Subject: RE: Harvard Pilgrim Finish at the 50 10K : Official Thread My son did this one last year and I wasn't a big fan.
Standing out in the hot sun waiting for the race to go off with Mr. Kraft selling his overpriced food and drink is not my idea of a good time.
My son was only 10 and he wanted to see himself on the big screen as he came on to the field and it just so happend the big screen camera guy decided to show something else exactly at that time - just bad luck.
They also for some unknown reason cover the stadium seats in the shade and wouldn't let people sit there.
By the end of the race we had enough and did not want to wait around another 2 hours for the fireworks. Hopefully the band and the fireworks were good.
Maybe with some better planning like setting up for some good tailgating would make it a lot more fun.
FYI - At the end of the race some sadistic cordintator decided to set up the course so you have to run up and and down the ramps at the stadium. LOL
Yes my son and the rest of my family did not have the best experiance that day but I do think you can have fun at this race but you just need to be prepared and I hope this info helps.
Thanks
