Looking for gear for a newbie...

I talked an Army friend of mine who is stationed at Ft. Hood to do the Cinco Ranch Triathlon with me next week. He's gearless, other than a bike and running shoes. I wanted to check to see if anyone had a pair of Large or extra large tri shorts they wanted to off load - he's a 36" waist. Anything else (shirt, etc) would be awesome. He has a pair of bike shorts, but the padding won't work for the swim/run portion - so I thought I'd see if anyone had anything. Just let me know what you want for them. At this point, he's talking about doing the whole thing in a pair of swim trunks, and all I can think of is that he will probably be nice and chaffed in some interesting areas by the time it's done if he does that. ;-) It's a 500 m swim/12 mile bike ride/3 mile run. ;-)
