Swim
Comments: For the first time I was still "in the pack" during the swim. This helped boost me through the rest of the race. What would you do differently?: Still need to work on speed sets to improve my time. Will bring my tinted goggles, next race. Transition 1
Comments: I should look into a tri-suit, different shirt or race belt when not using a wetsuit. Getting my shirt on was really a hassle. At the very least I need to practice this transition. Bike
Comments: I pushed the bike segment hard. I could have gone harder, but wanted to make sure I had enough for the run. It was hot and I was sweating pretty good from the halfway point through the finish. What would you do differently?: GPS watch or bike computer, to help know where I am in the race. I didn't train for this, and don't expect to in the future, so sacrificing "aero" for knowledge would be good for me. Transition 2
Comments: I was stopped by someone who stopped right in front of me (nearly crashed). I was already off the bike and planning on letting my momentum keep me going. What would you do differently?: maybe speed laces for the shoes. Run
Comments: I should have dumped water over my head at every aid station, and not worried about drinking. I didn't cramp but my belly was a little uncomfortable during the first mile of the race. I was aiming for a sub 25-min run, almost did it. Post race
Warm down: Wet towels and water were my best friends. I don't think I needed much more than that. What limited your ability to perform faster: I need to continue to work on my swimming speed and running speed. More fast sets. For my third triathlon, I felt really great. For this distance, it would be good to practice the length prior to the race. Event comments: The race was running 10-minutes late. I really didn't matter for me, and I didn't hear any complaints about it. It looked like the post-race activities would have been interesting, but I needed to get over to my family. I really look forward to the SOMA TRI next month, and will be doing this race for the foreseeable future. Well done LifeTime. Last updated: 2014-07-21 12:00 AM

Got to the Transition area around 6:00am. Had water to drink and 3 half peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Put on sunscreen, laid out my gear walked around and generally relaxed.
I put this race in my schedule to help prepare for the SOMA TRI, and was supposed to use it as part of my "rest" week.
Just walking around, and mentally went through the race.
Watching the Paratriathletes come out of the water and get on their bikes and wheelchairs was more than inspirational, it really motivated me to work hard through the events.
