I am a complete newbie to triathlon and am looking at purchasing my first bike. I found what looks to be a solid used 2011 Specialized Transition for $1400. I am totally stressed out over buying a bike as this is somewhat of an uneducated decision for me. I have read a lot of reviews for the bike and it seems a lot of people love it. But is this a wise FIRST BIKE? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Subject:RE: My first bike? Specialized Transition?
While that is a killer looking bike, I know others will agree that if you're going to invest that much money in a bike you should be sure it fits you properly. I hope those nice wheels come with it!
I'm not sure if one of these models is better, both are from 2009 aluminum/carbon combinations. I realize this is a difficult question but any thoughts as which bike is better for a woman?
I have a Specialized Allez Elite road bike with aero bars. It has the stock seatpost. I am interested in changing the seat post to one that is more forward. What would I look for?
Someone said that I would have to change in the transition area after the pool. Well OK, but it was maybe 45 degrees that morning. Yuck, all just part of the experience.
