hi there, coming into this app/training program after doing a couple of cycles with trinewbies.com. Really liked that one but seems outdated and Olympic Beginner training was 10 workouts per week and was becoming too taxing. Any comments on how these trainings compare to those?

Hi Augusto, welcome to BT!

BT is really comprehensive and there's a wide range to suit your needs even among the free plans. Paid membership and you can use the custom plan creator as well. I think it's a great value but it's still really easy to adjust the free plans to whatever your needs/levels are.

Welcome to BT Augusto. I joined BT because there's a lot of useful information flowing around here and lots of great people. I do triathlons because I enjoy the training and really enjoy the racing and challenging myself. I have yet to really follow a training plan, I simply run 2-4 times a week, swim 2-3 times a week and ride 2-3 times a week. All in all I might have 10 workouts a week but normally it's more like 6 to 8.

If you look at the free plans on this site (Training Plans, upper left) you'll see there's a 16 week and a 20 week Olympic plan both with just two s/b/r sessions a week. So that's a total of six workouts per week with a maximum of 8 training hours in the longest week. You can try one of those then add in extra when you feel up to it.

The mentor groups will be starting up soon and that's a great way to learn and share ideas.
