Comments:

Difficult hill on backside of dam. Was not prepared for the grade as well the other little hills on the other side. Had to do a lot of walking on these hills.

Warm down:

Lots of water, gatorade. Ate some BBQ and potatoes.

Event comments:

I wouldn't say this is "too hard", but very challenging. Would like to improve on times next year. Loved that this was a smaller race - not as many participants, but majority were serious athletes. Would need to shave over 10 mins to podium based on times this year.

In addition to writing your race number on each upper arm, they also wrote your age on your calf. This allowed me to see who was passing me by in the bike section of this race.

The boat was being tossed around. Someone noted that there were whitecaps on the waves. Another guy said, “This is going to be challenging.” I began to wonder what he meant by 'challenging'.
