Subject: Running in 2016
Finished IMWI 2 weeks ago. Awesome. Loved it.

While I am planning to do 1-2 HIM in 2016, I can't commit timewise to a full in 2016. Decided to concentrate on my running game for 2016. Want to break 3:30 in the Twin Cities Marathon and set our family record (for bragging rights).

I already run close to 8 min/mile for 1/2 marathons. I have done several fulls in the 4 hour range.

Question:
If I have 12 months to get ready for my race. How many "training" races would you do in 2016 and what distances would they be?

I can train for half marathons on pavement and on trails, but as soon as I change it up to gravel or loose dirt my knee swells and the pain it causes is unreal. Any ideas why this happens?
