Run
Comments: Run went well overall. I shot out like in a cannon for first 3 miles at a 8:50, 9:05, and a 9:15 mile pace. Up until 10 miles, I was still at a 9:20/mi pace. My goal was an 9:45/mi pace. What would you do differently?: Go out slower, like a 9:30/mi pace. Post race
Warm down: Ate fruit, drove home. What limited your ability to perform faster: Limited training. I've only been at it since December, or so. Also, I only made 1 training run in the last 2 weeks. I just didn't run anywhere the volume I have in years past by this point in the season. I also went out too fast. My long runs on the road have been at 9:45/mi or slower paces. This was my long run to date, and I was running around a 9:20/mi pace at mile 10. I gassed. Event comments: I would have a beer available at the end. None to be found. Mile markers at mile 12, and 13 not to be found. Also, there's a long stretch w/o aid station at the end. Like from mile 11.5 to 15.5. Long way to go w/o water at the end of a difficult 25K run. Overall, very well organized and a good atmosphere with courteous runners. I will be back to do this again. Last updated: 2016-02-28 12:00 AM
