Why Such Old Related Posts in BT?

This is a question as much as a pet-peeve. When I read an interesting topic here, I always look at the bottom of the post for related topics. Why are they all from 2004-2008? While I understand that IM has not changed that much. Maybe it is human nature that in the always-on, constant-information lives we live these days, I just can't bring myself to want to read something that is 8, 10, 12 years old.

Can't the forums bring up the most recent related posts to a topic? Seems like that may keep readers more engaged (I had read a post maybe 30 days ago about how readership is down dramatically here on BT).
