So I have the Zipp 404 Carbon clincher with the silver hub. apparently you can not change the hub to be compatible with 11speed bikes.

Is this True?
What can I do if this is or isnt true?

You can rebuild the wheel with an 11 speed hub. Expect about $150-200 for a decent hub, about $5 per spoke and about $50-75 for labor. Might be cheaper to buy a used 11 speed wheel.

The other alternative is to buy a Campy free hub body and use a Campagnolo cassette. The spacing is almost identical between Shimano and Campagnolo for 11 speed (not true for 10 speed). I used a Shimano D/A 11 speed wheel with my Campy EPS Record 11 tri bike. Shifts great (to the point where I can't tell the different between my Campy wheels and my Shimano wheel).

Would require Zipp Campy free hub body and a Campy cassette (not cheap, but less expensive then the other options)

If the rear rim is still in good shape, you can always change out the whole rear hub, but since that involves a full wheel rebuild, that is a very expensive method to upgrade your wheelset to 11-speed.

However, there are some very inexpensive solutions to this issue listed here, and some methods are even free !:
(fyi, we don't have a dog in this fight, just sharing some info that we've discovered to pay it forward)

I've done the "hybrid" cassette conversion (essentially converting an 11 speed cassette to a 10 speed) as described in the link provided by DSW , and it works great. I have used it on a tri bike and a road bike.

I have Bontrager Race Lite wheels. I was looking into renting Zipp 303's or 404's for race day for Ironman Lake Placid. What time will I save?
