Immigration Reform

Here is my plan for immigration reform:

1. Begin work immediately securing the border - wall, fence, national guard, drones, satellites, sensors, etc.

2. Set up program where illegals can get a work visa.

3. If you were born in the US, you can become a citizen

4. If you were not born here and came here illegally you can never become a citizen

5. Deport illegals with any felony convictions

6. Illegals aliens older than 18 and younger than 60 must register and find a job within 12 months or be deported

7. Worker with a work visa can go home and visit family and come back at will

8. A set number of additional work visas will be granted annually

etc.


OK, these are just off the top of my head. I think if congress and the WH really want to, they can pass immigration reform. It's not that hard! Both sides need to understand there will be give and take. You are not going to get everything you want and are going to have to compromise. My thinking is get dems and reps in the room and come up with 10 or so fundamental rules (like above) and then you give the rules to the policy guys and tell them to write the policies IAW the rules.

Maybe I am over simplifying things?
