Pro  15655    |  Subject: Bill Cosby's sentence...What say you? I think it was the right sentence. The idea of prison is to protect society from future illegal activity and, to a degree, provide a punitive component.(although the first is the FAR greater consideration IMO) I think the judge got it right. First, the prosecution was asking for 5-10, so 3-10 is very close. Second, it's not likely an 81 year old man is still a threat to society like he was when he was committing these crimes. Last, he will, punitively, likely spend most of the last, if not THE last, days of his life in prison. It's a damn shame to see someone fall so far......but it's the price to be paid for the pain he inflicted. Justice is served. Edited by Left Brain 2018-09-26 1:09 AM |

I always liked Bill Cosby because he could be funny without vulgarity....the type of humor you could watch with your kids. I've not seen any of the evidence against him so just have to trust our justice system that the guilty verdict was correct. |

He's been particularly vocal against black men being poor role models and prison bound. Wonder if any of that will come back to bite him on the backside in prison? |
