France Burns

I've not followed the riots in France very closely but from what I can tell they raised taxes on gas and diesel to use the money to fight climate change. This really hurts the working class who make a living driving trucks and cabs.

I have long said we'd sooner stop plate tectonics than we'd get 7.5 billion people to collectively change their polluting ways. The idea of a carbon tax will only hurt the poor. I will continue to drive my 6.2L gas-guzzling F150 even if the price of gas goes to $10 a gallon to fight climate change. This only hurts the working class....and we can see in Paris how that is working out.
