Yeah, we have gotten 5.5" since Friday and more is on the way.

What kind of race is your son in?

Just north of BHM is Warrior, AL and the Warrior River. Several years ago my son and I did the Warrior Dash in Warrior. I thought it was called Warrior Dash because it was in Warrior. Turns out Warrior Dashes are events run all over the country. I guess some RD in Warrior, AL thought it'd be cool to have a WD in Warrior.

If you want to take a scenic route home, suggest going thru Bankhead National Forrest. And if you do, stop at the Sipsey River and hike a mile or 3 along the creek. Wait, scratch the Sipsey.....those trail are prone to flash flooding....trail is probably underwater now anyway. But still a nice drive thru Bankhead. Also, if you aren't in a big hurry, when you hit HWY 72 go west till you hit the Natchez Park Parkway and head back north. Beautiful drive but be warned the speed limit is 50 mph.

He's here for Ohio Valley Conference indoor track championship. We blew in last night to catch the last of the days events and headed back tonight after he runs the 3k at 4:00. 16 hours of driving for 8 minutes of him racing. LOL. We'll come back though....we like it here and we like the people.

The facility here, the Crossplex, is amazing. Great venue and only 1 of 8 hydraulic banked tracks in the world. NCAA indoor championships here in 2 weeks.....might come down to watch.
