Ironman 70.3 Waco

A little late on the answer but I enjoyed the race. I didn't have a sleeveless wet suit and actually wished that I did have one. I don't get cold very easily so I think I would have preferred to have my arms more free. The start was nice and orderly with 4 at time going into the water. I really didn't notice the current very much.

The bike course was nice, I actually enjoyed the scenery out in the pastures and fields. I didn't notice many people with flats and didn't see any wrecks.

The run was fun, people on the course were great. There are a couple hills at about Mile 3? alot of people were walking the hills, especially on the second loop.

It was my first Half and I really enjoyed it. I am sure I will be back next year.

Thanks much! It did help. I had heard on another site that there were some pretty rough stretches of road. Did you feel the same way?

I coached two athletes that raced this year. I believe they both had full sleeve suits, but never mentioned the water feeling that cold anyways.

The key is to plan for the run course. They were surprised how tough it was.
