Run
Comments: Ran with Amelia attached to my waist and had my watch screen set to HR only so no time, distance, or pace data. There were also no mile markers. Pretty fun to run free like that. Pace felt comfortable for the first half, just keeping Kevin a decent distance ahead. Started to feel it into the last mile, but just kept pushing as I felt pretty good. Had to dodge the walkers coming out on yellow, but nothing too bad. Pretty surprised and excited to see sub-18 when the finish clock came into view. What would you do differently?: Nothing! A new PR and pretty fun running without assistance from the watch. Course was slightly long, Strava gave me a new 5k PR of 17:39. Either way, I'll take it! Post race
Warm down: 10:00 easy jog with Kevin and Danielle (and Amelia) What limited your ability to perform faster: Hard to say how much Amelia affected things, but I can't image it helped. Also if I was really going for time having the watch data visible may have sped me up a little. Event comments: Really great cause. The post race food was pretty legit for a 5k too. Would definitely do this again, as it was so much fun running with Amelia! She was definitely a star, got many cheers from the crowd. Last updated: 2022-10-25 12:00 AM
