It is not until June, but today is the anniversary of us getting engaged, so it made me think about planning (saving) for the 5th anniversary.

I am thinking get away, but we are already going to New York in April or May for the Red Sox Vs Yankees game so that eliminates her favorite place to visit.

Any ideas are appreciated.

Let me know what you come up with, so I can steal the idea.  My wife and I got engaged five years ago this past October and our anniversary is in May, so not exactly the same schedule you guys were on, but close.

My fiance promised he'd take me here for our 5 year anniversary.  Probably won't happen, but it sure looks awesome!

Well, traditional is wood and modern is silverware.  I cannot think of a single romantic silverware item - but then again, I don't spend much time in the kitchen....

So how about a hiking trip in Sequoia National Park to see the redwoods?

OK, maybe that's just what I would want.......

Good luck with your planning,  and good job getting started now.  So many times guys will post "my anniversary is tomorrow, and I need ideas"!.......

Well in my first marriage I got my wife divorce papers.....

For my second marriage I got my wife her favourite painting in a nice "wood" frame. So yeah, I'd got with the wood theme. Enjoy it before you get to 10 years...isn't that diamond or silver or something expensive.

New bedroom funiture?  That might cover the traditional anniversary gift and the bad jokes that would come with it.
