Master 1810 Morse Lake, Noblesville, Indiana | Subject: RE: Nike+ BT BEGINNER's challenge I just started back to work this week after my neck fusion surgery in November, so I am giving you a heads up. I was going to go running at lunch today to get my start, but the guys at work drug me to Penn Station for lunch. My belly is full of yummy greasy food, and now that I am back in my office, it's nap time. I'll probably get about 5-6 miles in this weekend though, so watch out... |

Master 1810 Morse Lake, Noblesville, Indiana | Subject: RE: Nike+ BT BEGINNER's challenge Um, sorry, the challenge is full for the next 6 months... Just kidding... I think that you need to contact Autumn, as I believe she is the keeper of the keys, or knows the secret handshake or something like that... |

I sat down for about 20 minutes and tried to figure this one out, and no luck. Aside from a print screen to an image, I don't know of any other way to get an image from a flash app. |

Master 1810 Morse Lake, Noblesville, Indiana | Subject: RE: Nike+ BT BEGINNER's challenge 5.7 miles today, and 5 planned for tomorrow. Come on guys, rise to the challenge and make me work for it... Possum? Willow? Are we the only ones on this thread? It's actually just really nice to be able to run again after my neck surgery. |

Champion 5183 Wisconsin | Subject: RE: Nike+ BT BEGINNER's challenge I have a 3 miler to do today, which according to my Plan, is my long run. back to back 5 milers? you are no beginner! Sandbagger Kidding, it's awesoem that your surgery went so well and that you are back at it... But are you sure you shouldn;t be taking it a bit slower |

Master 1810 Morse Lake, Noblesville, Indiana | Subject: RE: Nike+ BT BEGINNER's challenge A bit slower? One of my best friends told me a few weeks ago that moderation is not in my vocabulary. I imagine that is pretty simmilar with most triathletes. Sandbagging? Not me, I just started doing this stuff again after about a decade... decade and a half break. I ran CC in high school and college, and grew up swimming competitivly. With both of those, I always did 2 a day practices, and in the fall, during CC season, I was known to run 15 miles after swim practice. I had an ... um ... enthusiastic CC coach that for our halloween run, we had to run about 23 miles to a pumpkin farm, and then run back with a pumpkin. Whoever came back the quickest, and whoever came back with the biggest pumpkin were the "winners". Sandbagging? Not me, I just think things are going so well from muscle memory and sheer determination. |

Champion 5183 Wisconsin | Subject: RE: Nike+ BT BEGINNER's challenge nah, I'm just talking smack! My real goal for this month is just get 10 runs in, I am not so much going for distance, or speed as much as just getting back in the groove. I have battled ITBS forever and it is always exacerbated by doing too much too soon. But isn;t this whole NIke+ thing way way too much fun? I actually look forward to my next run (today in fact) instead of dread. |

Master 1810 Morse Lake, Noblesville, Indiana | Subject: RE: Nike+ BT BEGINNER's challenge Yeah, the Nike+ thing is enough of a motivation to get out and run. I am going for 30 miles in 30 days, and 5 total runs quicker than a 15 minute/mile pace. The challenges are just further motivation. |

Master 1810 Morse Lake, Noblesville, Indiana | Subject: RE: Nike+ BT BEGINNER's challenge Possum-Congrats on the PR, it's nice having Lance talk to you... Good job! Everyone Else- It's time to get out and run! I'm going to add at least 10 miles to the totals this week, and that is before my long run next Saturday... Anyone else want to run 10 miles with me this week (10 miles, at different times, in different places....)? Consider it a mini-challenge, 10 miles before midnight Friday. Put it down on paper people and stick to it!!! You have to make your goals public, or you'll never even hold yourself accountable to them... Edited by tjtryon 2007-01-08 12:21 PM |

You can do 20 x 1/2 miles runs if you want. Game On! I started out this morning at 8.83 miles. By midnight Friday, I am hoping to break 20. I have a 5k run planned for tonight after the kids go to bed, and usually follow that with a mile just barely faster than a walk. Edited by tjtryon 2007-01-08 2:10 PM |

Regular 69 Hilo, Hawaii | Subject: RE: Nike+ BT BEGINNER's challenge Well, I'm training for that marathon in march. I started in September weighing 227 at 6 ft, and have gotten down to 207 now. As a fire fighter/paramedic, I have a schedule that allows me to run 6 days out of 9. I'm not that fast but my times have been dropping. Hopefully this challenge will push me even further. |
