Run
Comments: Went fine. I didnt go out really fast because wasnt sure how hard this was going to be, it being my first multisport event. I kept my heartrate low and came out behind a few people but not too far back What would you do differently?: I need to work on run technique to get my time down Transition 1
Comments: I made sure my running shoes were set up for my next run so that took a couple of seconds. Also we had to run up a slight hill to get to the street where we could mount the bike. It was slick with cycling shoes and I didnt do a very good job getting on the bike and clipped in. I need to work a bit more on that What would you do differently?: get some Yanks shoes laces. Work more on mounting quickly and clipping in. I am still getting used to these Look style pedals. I am more used to SPD type Bike
Comments: I went pretty hard I passed alot of the people that were faster than me in running. I think it went well. I stayed in aero position all the time except at the very top of the 3/4 mile hill and also when i got water. I think overall it went well. What would you do differently?: I think i well get a aero bar drink holder so that I dont have to get up to grab the bottle and drink. i think it will help me a bit. Transition 2
Comments: I came at the same time as someone else and she slowed down alot right at the bike dismount line. There was now room to get past her so I was stuck behind her going really slow running down the hill to the transition area. I probably should have taken my shoes off while I was still on the bike, but with her in front of me, I was worried I might run into her. It also took some time to get my shoes tied. Yanks will help What would you do differently?: take shoes off while on the bike get Yanks Run
Comments: I felt like i was going to puke when i got about 1/4 mile into the run. I slowed a bit to regain my composure. I need to do more bricks!!! I should work on running more because it is not my strongest event. Also at the end a guy caught up to me and passed me because I was really paying attention. We sprinted to the finish and he beat me by .2 seconds. That was annoying. What would you do differently?: Do more bricks work on running Pay more attention to people coming up on me Post race
Warm down: walked around, stretched, talked with a few people What limited your ability to perform faster: running ability/training. slow transitions Event comments: There was a run clinic afterward which was very informative. It taught me several things about the way I was running that I can improve to make me faster Last updated: 2007-03-26 12:00 AM

I ate some cheerios and drank a few glasses of water. I got to the venue early to set up my transition area. I listened to a transition clinic. It was good, but I know most of what he said
I ran down the block a couple of times and stretched really well. I sipped water along the way
