Subject: RE: Summer Bike-To-Work Challenge IIOh, I have an idea for people wanting to participate in this challenge, but feel that work is too far to commute to by bicycle alone. I hope that this doesn't violate the rules or spirit of the challenge, though, tim_edwards.
This is the idea:
if you live so far away that you can't possibly ride to work (like say if you lived 30 miles away from work... ) then how about loading your bike on your car, driving about halfway, and then unloading your bike to ride the rest of the way?
You still get your exercise (bicycle riding workout ) and you also still save on gas compared to people that drive the entire way to work (but not as much as the people able to do the entire distance on bike, I admit ).
Alternatively, if the buses in your area have bicycle racks, you can take the bus instead of the car for that halfway ride |
