Sunny
Total Time = 49m 5s
Overall Rank = 14/38
Age Group = 20-29
Age Group Rank = 3/5
Pre-race routine:

ate some breakfast around 5 am and made sure I was well hydrated the night before and kept it up to about 2 hrs before the race.
Event warmup:

Stay loose and kept the legs warm. Not too much over exertion because I was tired, it was windy and I had 10k to go :)
Run
  • 49m 5s
  • 6.2 miles
  • 07m 55s  min/mile
Comments:

windy 15-20 mph SSE. First half was a killer running into the wind, the return route a little better. 9 am start so it wasnt to warm.
Post race
Warm down:

warm the legs up and stretch, grab some water and fruit.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

tired, tired, tired

Event comments:

good run. tired from the night of work plus the wind as a huge factor 15-20 mph. Run had some decent hills to it but enough flats to re group. Fairly well organized with chip timing. Fun run I will do again.

not bad for the first of the year. had a couple things working against me, the wind and I was just coming off of shift, so I was running on about 1.5 hrs. of sleep. Could have paced myself a little better in the beginning to finish stronger but got it sub 50 min. which was my goal
