Subject: RE: Let's talk taper and food if you are doing a sprint, i wouldn't worry so much about carbo loading. i worried about the same stuff before my races and i think it isn't as important with races that are under 2 hours. i would just eat what you normally eat. the night before, have something with some carbs (pasta, rice ), but don't over-do it. for my first race i just had a clif bar in the morning, and a clif shot before the race. this time, i did a cup of oatmeal with some milk and honey, and a clif shot before the race. seemed to have more sustained energy for the second race. could be lots of reasons for that, but i'll still be sticking w/ oatmeal. |
