What would you do differently?:

nothing
Transition 1
  • 01m
Comments:

the morning dew caused the wet grass to stick to my rims, frame, and petals. it made for a slippery mount of the cycle, but I was ready for and and played it safe (but SLOW).
What would you do differently?:

for next season I want to learn the shoes on petals trick

hustle more
Run
  • 1h 40m 51s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 07m 42s  min/mile
Comments:

I concentrated on pacing myself and not going out too hard like the last .5 IM. I paced myself, but set the pace a bit slower than I should have, but I guess it wasn't bad having some left at the end.
What would you do differently?:

Take it out slightly faster. slightly.
Post race
Warm down:

Light stretch and walk.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My lack of skill on the bike.

Event comments:

I gave the race a bad rating because it was supposed to be a half ironman triathlon. On Satruday, during my practice swim, me and all of the other swimmers were waved out of the lake and informed that the lake had just failed a safety test. A sewage leak into the groundwater had contaminated the lake thus rendering it unsafe to swim in. The race director then decided to make the race a duathlon.
