Swim
Comments: This swim Felt LONG...but that is based on my opinion. For this being my first open water swim where I didn't almost Drown. (my first race was a nightmare!!) I felt really happy go get out of the water and actually having swam the whole leg. I actually felt really slow in the water..probably again to the low energy level starting from the time I woke up. What would you do differently?: Not much....actually suprised at my time...I'd try to draft more than I did. I started out pretty well but got dropped once and then had to swim around another pair of feet a little later on in the swim. Transition 1
Comments: With my lack of expierence in the transition game..I suck! I always feel dizzy when coming out of the water...I've got to get my sea legs still!! My fist try was in a pool so I didn't have to deal with a wetsuit. My second tri I almost drown on the swim so I didn't care about my T-1 time. So I guess you could say I had to start somewhere...and a 2:38 is somewhere that I can Hopefully only drop time off of so I'm ok with it...for now! What would you do differently?: Be faster Bike
Comments: Kept exchanging places with a 22 year old and after the turn around I decided I had enough of playing games....Dopped the hammer and didn't see him again..Until the run that is DANG!!..Felt Good to push the bike...Finally felt like I was waking up and getting a little energy back... What would you do differently?: Go faster Transition 2
Comments: Long transition runs here at blue lake....This one was ok...took time to put on soem body glide as I had a toe that was bleeding... What would you do differently?: Go faster Run
Comments: Felt slow as well until the turn around...checked heart rate and cranked it up... Pushed to LT for the second 1/2 of the run...should have started out faster What would you do differently?: Go faster Post race
Warm down: GU and a water with a little stretching What limited your ability to perform faster: I'm guessing overall fitness. Event comments: Very well organized race with a good support staff. I'll be back next year to try to PR again!! Last updated: 2007-06-11 12:00 AM

Being new to this whole Tri stuff I've yet to put in practice a Full routine. I usually just get up and eat a smallish breakfast and frantically get all the last minute stuff that I forgot to do the night before and then head off to the race!
This was the first time I actually had a little extra time to do a warmup. Being my third race EVER. I got to the race site with about an hour and a half to go before race start. Met up with my coach and did a little 10 min spin on the bike and a 10 min jog just to get the blood pumping....I really dont think that it helped me much.. I felt pretty tired in the Am.
