Resident Matriarch  N 43° 32.927 W 071° 24.431 |  Subject: My Teamwell...I've been debating about whether or not I should rejoin the triathlon team. I am leaning towards "no" for a number of reasons, the main one being there is no one to train with who lives closer than an hour away. So it's not like I'm going to miss out on any great workouts if I don't join, I'd miss out even if I did join. But the thing I did like about the team was the friendship and comaraderie. I was sorely missing out on that and have found all I need right here. So I just wanted to let you know that you are all my new teammates, and I appreciate all the encouragement and support that I have found here. I am again looking forward to racing and then sharing my excitement right here. I thank you for that! |

However once most guys and gals have been involved in a Tri Club after awhile they tend to train with the same people over and over again. The other Tri Club members become familiar friendly faces but become less of an importance to the former neophite. I find a lot of Tri Clubs ( Rincon Racing, LA Tri etc ) turn out to be cliques of various athlete ability. I suppose this imitates life in general but like other social circles I choose not to hang with the insecure group types that tend to brag about their log entries and penis length |

Member 531 New Hampshire | Subject: RE: My Team team - yep same here -I'm reporting in and updatign my log so that I remaind honest and you lot can burn me when I'm slacking - I'm the one that has to do the race so I may has well get used to your voices in my head anyway!! as for Cliques. every forum in existance will be accused of having them. and its true - this is a clique already -of the people that have already joined!!! anything actually wrong with that? not in my opinion - untilwe as a forum fall short of helping answer someones questions because we are to bussy laughing at/with each other. unlikely that it will happen though |

I always come to this site before I go work out and it gives me even more energy! I am just getting involved on this site, and am loving it. I am not a "joiner" in most cases, but this forum and "clique" (if need be) is different and I hope to be an active member.
