Run
Comments: Ran well, but felt pretty poor. First run was a challenge. Transition 1
Comments: Very slow getting going in the transition. Almost 1 minute in transition. Bike
Comments: Back half of the loop was very fast with slight downhill. Averaged 25-30 mph on this section until hitting the headwind. Last mile of each loop was uphill. First 3 loops, rode the hills pretty well. Last lap was a little tired and slowed to 16-17 mph on the hill. Transition 2
Comments: Struggled in transition, bike from the short race was in my spot and had to be moved. Calves started cramping as I was changing shoes. Tried to get my long sleeve jersey off for the run, but the zipper got stuck and I wasted too much time trying to fix it and had to leave it on. Ended up being quite warm in the final run. Run
Comments: First mile was cramping a bit in calves and right hamstring. Thought the whole run was going to be a struggle. Once I hit the 1 mile mark, I got the kinks worked out and was running fairly well. Final 1.5 miles was running out of gas and my paced slowed a bit. With no one pushing me from behind, I didn't push myself overly hard over the final 1.5 miles. Post race
Warm down: A lot of walking with some stretching. Ate a bunch of food and drank 48 oz. water and some gatorade. Last updated: 2004-10-10 12:00 AM
