Comments: Got off to a good start. Noticed some tightness or something in my calves and hamstrings for a brief time at the beginning of the race. Coming into the finish line I ended up in a sprint with a 10 year old and lost to him :-) What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Warm down: Had a Recoverite after the run plus half another bottle of water; about 22 oz. Stretched a bit while waiting for awards to start. Jogged around a bit before driving home. What limited your ability to perform faster: HEAT, the energy zapper. I was plenty warm at the end of the race. Event comments: Race Chip timed... Main reason why I chose to do this race. Something new: 1 Hammer Gel in my 10oz flask that I carry. Sipped on it a little before race and during race.
Usual stretch & self massage before leaving for race.
Four or five shorts sprints around the starting line.
