Considering doing the Half.

I need a followup race to run in the next few weeks and this fits the bill perfectly.

OK, I am off the fence.

I am in for sure. Will decide if I will be doing the Half or the Full Marathon after this weekend's Tuneup Race. (Still need to put last weekend's marathon into proper perspective before making a decision)

See you there

Just rode first 18 miles of the course . The start is an uphill one with the biggest Hill is in the first mile. Should be smooth sailing after that .
3 weeks away now .
I am doing the santa monica 10k this sunday . I am looking to beat my 10k time from the last Olympic triathlon by quite a few minutes.

I drove through yesterday afternoon and the air quality seems to have improved quite a bit but still not ideal.

Looks like the fire did not get too close to the course but the weather is predicting Santa Ana Winds again this weekend. (Hope the fire is totally out by Thursday cuz it's gonna get very windy again)

I am still in as long as the race goes and the air quality is reasonable

You probably already know this but:

The AQMD is currently showing a AQI of ~25 for Santa Clarita Valley. (< 50 is considered good air quality)

The Air Temps are going to be a bit challenging. Mid-40s for the start and 80 is the predicted high. (Hopefully we are all done before it gets to be that hot)

Oh, and don't forget that Nov 4th is also the day to set your clocks back

That means you will get an extra hour sleep Sunday morning.
Air quality in SCV has been good since last saturday.
If you register saturday afternoon at the Expo
look out for me .
Temperature is typically 50F in the morning and should stay that way for most of my time on the course. I am shooting for a sub 2 HAlf.

Hey Tim how did it go for you ?
I did pretty well and the 10 k two weeks ago was great prep work for pace and race effort. I PR the distance with a time around 1:58 . It felt cooler than Saturday and that was helpful for me.

Gonna post my RR in a bit but I did really well today.

I ran a really strong race and paced very well for the conditions and course.

I ran a 3:33:08 which is a ~4 Minute PB for me and ~40 minutes faster than Long Beach Marathon 3 weeks ago. (I ran a 4:13 in Long Beach)

My SO did the Half as a training run for a Goal Half Marathon next weekend and also did very well.

I'm doing the half.
This is my first run only race. I have a dumb question...
Does your time start when you cross the start line or when the race starts? I figure if there are 1200 ppl there it might take me a minute or two before I cross the start line once the race officially starts. Figure there is a timing chip though?

They have chip timing ,  last year it took only 10 seconds to get past start line.

At the back it might take a minute.

Line up on the left (MAll Side)  of Mcbean for 5k   and right side (The GReens)  of median for HAlf and Full.

I will be the Paul Bunyan lookalike on the course .
