Pre-race routine:

Began by searching for TRI-MOM 217 in CROWD of people, how tough can that be (I had no idea what she looked like, or number)! Well, I was walking down the beach after a little polar bear swim and there I am standing next to this beautiful petite woman in a wetsuit and I look at her and say "Are YOU ellen?" and to my pleasant surprise she says "Yes I am, are you glen?" and there we are! Can you believe it!

Comments:

Lousy swim time but a fun swim! Water was coolish and I was about the only one NOT wearing a wetsuit, ellen, of course, being smarter than I, wore hers!
I had a blast, Ellen and I did some BOXING and stayed side by side thru the swim, although she did pass me and get out quicker.

Felt great on the bike. Really kicked it into gear to make up for lost time. First time I had used my tri-bike on a race.

Comments:

Realized quickly that time was running out for me as I had another appointment to get to in a hurry. Had to DNF, and dash off to a a scout trip. Got the kids on the ferry boat but missedit myself, oh well.

Event comments:

Good race organization but they need to start event on time. Big reason I had to DNF was because the race started about 20 mins late.

Now that is the best reason for a dnf  I have ever heard Glen - off to be DAD - I love it!!

(... unless this a triathletes' version of the "dog ate my homework" and I'm just gullible)
