Hi everyone

Happy November.  It is a beautiful sunny fall day here in Nebraska!

I'm headed to the gym for a spinning class, I like the one on Sunday because it's 60 min

I didn't post my WI results on Friday- tons of meetings, bleh

Anyway, I was back down a little 161.3 - so at least it's back in the right direction

Have an awesome week!

Spinning class sounds like fun. DH and I are going to start checking out gyms in our area. He's gone all next week but starting the week after that I think we're going to get serious is finding tri-sport supporting places to work out. We've already started looking at houses in the area.

As to my WI this week, there won't be one. WW is closed for a mandatory staff meeting today. I did weigh on my scale this morning and am not disappointed by what it shows, but I want to keep my official weight at what WW is showing me.

Hoping to catch a run on the beach with DH again this afternoon. Please keep your fingers crossed. Next week is going to be hard motivationally for me since DH won't be here to talk to about my running, riding and swimming.

Spinning class was good.  I really enjoy it and I honestly think it helped me to get started in cycling.  I actually did the spinning class for about 8 months before I even bought a bike

Sorry there was no meeting today - that is a bummer, I look forward to my meetings, it's just nice to touch base.

A run on the beach sounds wonderful, I hope you get to go.

I know you will miss DH :-

We will be thinking of you and are here to support and motivate you.  I think it's great that you are doing the Nov challenge, lots of great people on your team (and other teams  Smile) are there to support you!

Spinning is fantastic - even addictive.
As Beth said, we will be here to support you while your DH is away this week!

Joining in. I weighed in yesterday and finally faced the scale . Up 5 lbs since the week before my marathon in September. I'm ok with this though, now I have a starting point. And I have all of the other good things I've accomplished to help me realize the progress I've made so far.

It's on! I want to have less of me to haul up the hills of Atlanta training for my March marathon and May oly!

I've committed to Friday morning weigh-ins.

Awesome job!  The first step is always the hardest (ok, well sometimes those steps in the middle seem just as hard - lol)

Welcome to the group!

This is a very supportive group of people.  Everyone kind of jumps in and out - we have some great discussions around WW stuff and other things

When I weighed in on Saturday, I was down .4 to 129.0. I had hoped to lose a whole pound last week, but considering the cake-and-ice cream, wine-and-cheese weekend I did last week, I'll take .4 and run with it.

I spent last night cooking for the week and today I planned all my menus for the whole week. I think I'm set to go. I know I just need to be more disciplined about sticking to the plan. And this week, there are no food-centered special events for school. I have a party to go to Saturday night, but hopefully a great weigh-in will be motivation to have a bit more self-control when surrounded by lots of people eating and drinking...

Is it too late to come up with some goals for the November challenge? I'll check that thread...

You should definitely check it out!  It is a lot of fun

also, congrats on your loss!

the topic of my meeting on friday was very much centered around not getting hung up on the # on the scale but also thinking about other ways that we have been successful on our weight loss journey

you are doing great!

Howdy! I hope that everyone had a great weekend. I had a wonderful weekend, however, I did not stick to program hardly at all. Soooo back to square one I am ashamed to say. I am sure that I have gained from that stint of debauchery. I am trying to get my head in the game today so that I get back on track this week. The permenant track of WW as a lifestyle like it used to be. I hope everyone has a great monday. The log is attached. Jana

Can I be a late comer, too?  I'm worried about my 5lb goal I posted for the Nov Challenge.  But at least as of this morning I know that I have the opportunity to loose it, was worried it was a baby and not fat (Takes 9 months to get those off )

This morning I weighted in at 164.4.  I know it doesn't sound like I'm too overweight, but when you only measure 5.2, that's an extra 30lbs easy.

 THANKS

I'm doing okay, thanks! I didn't run yesterday morning, since DH left early when I would have been out. I thought I could do it when I got home, but by the time I got home from the Y (paying for my swim coach! Woohoo!) and mailing a package for DH it was too dark. I don't mind running in the dark in the morning since no one is on the road, but it's rather scarey at night because everyone's speeding home from work.

I did run this morning. Paid for being a slacker the past 4 days, so that won't happen again. I sat on the bed for about 10 minutes trying to talk myself OUT of it, but I have swim tonight and knew there was no way I could do both this evening. So, yeah, I ran. I want to lose 1 pound by Sunday, since that will get me another gold star! LOL

Jana, DH and I just found out that the military fitness center by us has pilates once a week and I so want to go.

And woohoo! Geaux Tigers. Welcome Heather

Terri- How awesome to have a swim coach!! Man let me know how that works out cause this spring I will definitely need one of those. I can swim I am am just very bad at it, lol.
Pilates is really fun too. I used to do pilates as my only exercise because it was the only thing I could do that I could lay down and still exercise, LOL. Funny how you look back on how you USED to think and laugh at yourself. Don't get me wrong it is hard work, my arms are getting more sore by the minute from yoga.

We're looking into the fitness centers close to where we live. I'd love to find one that has a pool and yoga classes. DH needs to stretch more and I think he's be happy with a yoga class. AS to pilates, I've always wanted to just try it! LOL

MrsUSMC - 2007-11-06 9:50 AM And woohoo! Geaux Tigers. Welcome Heather

Thanks Everyone... And wow... You knew that "Geaux" belongs with TIGERS!  Way cool. And yes, I'm an alumne, or you?

Idea for those looking to improve swimming...

Check out your local Y or Community Rec Ctr for a Master's Swim team.  Many people get scared by the term "Master's"  but it's often really for all levels.  You have a team coach helping you without the expense of a personal swim coach. We just started one at our center and the Aquatics Coord. tells me that there are a lot of beginners.  Hopefully I'll be one of them soon.

A big welcome to Heather and ATLrunner girl! This is a great crew!

I want to second the recommendation to join a Master's Swim Team.

I started swimming a couple of times a week with a local community Master's team before I did my first tri, in September, and -- just this morning!! -- I went back to pick it up again after a month 'off.' It really is all levels, and all ages, of people, and it's been so incredibly helpful for me to have a coach. I can tell my technique is improving by leaps and bounds. I have so many examples... but I won't bore you with the details. It's also made swimming workouts more challenging and much, much more fun for me (as I tend to get bored swimming back and forth for too long!) And on top of that, it's just such a kick- feeling to have my workout done by 7:30 am!

Thanks for the Pilates plugs, too. I tried a class last week, and I didn't get too much out of it. But maybe it was the teacher? Or my form might have just been terrible! I'm going to try it a couple more times before I give it up and go back to yoga...

For now, though, I'm just so happy to be back in the pool!

Don't worry, Jana -- I lost my WI book, monthly pass, etc. a while back. They just gave me a new one. They asked me to write down my monthly pass number, but I didn't remember it. Presumably they have a record of it somewhere in some computer. But it wasn't a big deal, as I recall. They gave me a new WI book, let me write down my older #'s from my WW folder (which they keep at my meeting for me), and that was that.

No big deal! You are still allowed to have a great day!

(But I do hope you find your diary... I get anal about those things, and I hate it when I think I've lost it. Which is, unfortunately, quite regularly...)

Ahhh!  Louisianian or Cajun?  There are more and more of us I am finding out west here, and not just since Katrina.  I met a man at Lowes the other day from N.O. and there used to be a lady at my church that actually grew up across the bayou from where I grew up.

I do miss the seafood and sometimes the water and definitely the football.

Thanks for all the Welcomes.

And Beth,  is it really that odd that you of all people would run into someone... you're all over this place
