Morning everyone!

We have light snow here in Nebraska - it's quite pretty and way better than the ice we had yesterday morning - that was not fun.

Heres to a good week!

Okay first. Brrrrr, Beth! I get goosebumps just thinking about it!

I'm back on schedule this week. I'm up 2 pounds but am cool with that considering I've had Thanksgiving week and a very unstructured exercise week since my last WI.

Next week is a biggie for me. I'll get my 16 week award. I've never made it past week 4 (I think) and am excited for myself just sticking with it. The only difference between this time and last time is my attitude.

Have a great WW week!

I wish we had snow! It's just rainy here, lol.

WI this week, down another 2 lbs to 240.4! I had set a goal in the holiday challenge of 8 lbs so I'm a little over halfway there now. tonight's workout shoudl be fun. Mixing it up by taking a new gym class - aqua cycle. Biking in the water. sounds interesting so I'm gonna try it out. figure the resistance should give me a good workout and if not, i'll head upstairs to the real bike for a while.

It was totally weird, LOL. We sat on noodles (imagine a noodle in a u shape) and cycled (meaning legs in cycling motion), lol. We did legs only, one leg at a time, legs and arms, arms only, opposing arm/leg, and one arm at a time. Then we leaned on it (so like laying flat in the water with it under our armpits) and cycled (more like mountain climbers) up and down. Then we put it under one arm at a time and did our legs while on our sides. So it was a really weird feeling, but afterwards, I felt it in my buns and arms, so it did something. I'll probably do it again, see how it feels when it's not so foreign. My happy moment was that we were in the mid-deep end (6'4") and I wasn't wearing a belt and just doing it and feeling fine. I even treaded water when we were noodleless and stretching! Go me! LOL

LOL - that sounds like it would be kind of fun, but I can see how it would feel weird - I'm pretty sure I'd fall off of my noodle LOLOL

was it a good workout?

I would try it ! I mean as long as you could feel it then it must do something right?!?!

Hope that everyone is having a good week. Has anyone picked out any spring races that they are considering?
As for me..... January is half marathon month ( houston and austin )
feb-march are big running months for me as well. I have myfirst tri in April or May I have not decided yet.

Is this a Weight Watchers thread? Challenge? Support?

I was on it about two years ago and did great - now just got back into it and trying to lose about 20 pounds by race season...

Would love to join in...

Hi

you are more than welcome to join in!  this is definitely more of a support thread than a challenge thread.

Jana does keep a spreadsheet for us and we do report our WI, but we don't really set goals for losing X lbs within a set amount of time

some of us also participate in the WL challenge threads in addition to this thread -

we start a new thread every Sunday,

I guess I would think of it as a WW meeting that you can attend any time of the week

as of right now, the only race I have planned is the HyVee Oly in June.  My life is a little bit up in the air right now job-wise, so I'm not commiting to much.

I'm also still dealing with a foot injury, same foot, different symptoms ARGH!

Yay! We have a guy on here again!

Jana - my WI was on the 2nd, not the 1st, so can you move the data over?

As to races, I'm registering for the Surf City 5K on Feb 3 this weekend (gotta wait on that pesky paycheck). After that it'll be the Carlsbad 5000 in April and then my first tri in May

No kidding. You have no idea how bad I want to turn in my notice. I want to say "I quit" and have the boss ask me where I'm going to, and to be able to tell him "I can't stand this place so much that I'm just quitting and will take my chance on finding another job."

it would be AWESOME to have that freedom, wouldn't it!  I'm in a similar situation.  I'm actually insome pretty serious consideration for a major move - stay tuned!

Good luck to you! Tonight, I'm sending my resume to a company closer to home. Probably less money, but no more 1 hour commute there and back. The only drawback is I'll have to shift my workout times to later in the evening, like after dinner, and it'll probably take a lot more willpower for me to leave the house to do it when DH is gone.

Good luck to you guys with your work situations!

Always remember that special line from "Risky Business"...

"Joel, sometimes you just gotta say 'What the &*^%!' 'What the $%^&' brings you freedom, freedom brings you opportunity, opportunity MAKES your future!

It went something like that... but good luck anyway!

How are you girls doing today? I get to work around 7AM here in Philadelphia so I guess I won't be getting any responses to posts for a few hours... Omaha, Oceanside, Texas

I've put together a few good workouts the past couple of days - first WI tomorrow and I feel a few pounds lighter... I've got to get back to where I was two years ago... decent shape and feeling great... finished one of my tri's and finished 10/61 in my age group... a most glorious moment when your hard work pays off...

Last year was a tough time - my father-in-law (great man) was diagnosed with all types of cancer August 2006 and passed away this past April - I was involved in his treatments, appointments, transfusions, etc and just was never able to put together any consistent training so decided to skip races this past season... in the meantime put on about 20 pounds and just haven't worked out consistently...

So I'm ready for pre-season traing and weight loss for this spring/summer and I appreciate the chance to get in on your little group as well  any support!

I'll try to provide as much valuable support to you gusy too! There's nothing better...

Happy Thursday! Tomorrow's Friday!
