Good morning everyone!

It is FREEZING in NE!!!

it's supposed to get up to 18 today - woo hoo!  down to 4 tonight

Ok, so the challenge for the week and the rest of the month is for each of us to log our intake faithfully everyday.

I didn't WI this week, but, I did start logging.  Two days of complete logging.

I decided to use my BT blog as sort of an accountablity tool, I'm goign to be adding the summary of the day to my log each day - this will help keep me honest!

Have a great week!

I'm down 1# to 250.6 plus I got my 16 week award today

It snowed in the mountains by us last night and they're absolutely beautiful!

Today I'm rearranging the furniture in 3 rooms to make room for new dining furniture. We're turning our dining room into an office for DH and turning the area in the kitching into dining, and getting ready for a new flat screen TV in our living room. I wonder how many APs that's worth! LOL

Good morning girls!

Congratulations Terri on your weight loss and your 16 weeks! Keep it up!

I logged all weekend too! It really helped knowing that we were all trying to do it!

Good job, Beth! You can make it without your flex points! You'll just have to make wise decisions and use that willpower when everybody around you is eating more freely!

Talk to you guys a little later when you wake up!

morning! i log on sparkpeople instead of here, but i've been logging down .6 this weekend. whoo hoo i'm still a happy girl. after 2 weeks of 2+ lb losses...i'm just happy it's still going down instead of bouncing up. and my exercise was a little low las week too. my problem is less accountability..more sleeping. i have been going to bed really late, like 12, then i'm exhausted when i wakeup for work at 6. i have to get back in my habit of getting into bed no later than 10 pm, no matter what else is going on. so that is my personal challenge this week. getting to bed by 10 everyday this week with the exception of Saturday night (work holiday party), where I can stay up til 12 or 1 because I can sleep in late the next morning.

Wow, you ladies are all doing great.  Logging can be so difficult, esp with the busy schedules of work, kids, training, etc.

Sorry I've been disconnected the past few weeks.  I am down to 159.  Been toggling back and forth a few pounds lately.  I missed it last week, are most of y'all logging through the web here or through WW.

Trying to get back on the bus, now that work will hopefully slack off a little.

I noticed that trying to swim lately, I think has helped (aside from the fact that I got sick the first day from swallowing so much air when trying to breath).]

Let's keep our progress going....  (dang, and I bought cookies at the store yesterday )

100% logging success for me.

And thanks for the congrats on my 16 week award. I got emotional over it and thought I was going to cry! I truly love my leader and the members that are there every week. Next goal is my 10%. I'm buckling down more since I'm in actual training mode right now so I'm hoping to lose 13# by the end of February.

As to the furniture moving, every musle in my body is aching this morning. It's amazing how that works! We ended up getting the neighbor to help DH move the top of my china hutch since it's mostly glass and I just didn't feel comfortable picking up something that top-heavy, that fragile and going so far with it. The rest we did between the two of us. Tonight I'll be shampooing the dining carpets so they can dry for 1 full day before we move DH's office in there.

We're going to Disneyland on Wednesday and Thursday our dining furniture will be delivered.

Ohhhh.....  DisneyLand @ Christmas time... I hope to take the boys for Christmas one year when they're older.

Hum... shampooing carpets, good idea, think I'm gonna go ask the boss for an extra day off next week and focus on floors in the house.

Congrats on your loss Kimmi!  I can totally relate to the staying up too late!  I've read that it makes a huge difference, I figure I'll get the logging thing back under control and then I'll move to the next challenge

Terri - moving all that furniture has to count for something!  I understand how you feel about your leader and your group - I'm tempted to go back to saturdays, I wonder if I can do that even though i'm technically doing it through work - I just haven't found the leader to be as motivational - really nice, but...............

Heather - nice to see you!

I'm logging better this week -- I just need to stay away from the cookies and brownies in the conference rooms at work!  But I'm writing them down, so I have already used all my flex points for the week.  Gotta get serious...

I wanted to share that I finished my first 10K on Sunday!  I did intervals of 4 min. running with 1 min. walking the entire 64 minutes, and I felt like I could have run faster.  When I think back to April when I couldn't run more than 30 seconds without my heart feeling like it was going to explode, I am overwhelmed and amazed.  My inaugural triathlon season is over.  I need to decide on 2008 goals now.  What are your goals for 2008???

Hey girls!

Yesterday was my day off from workouts!

I HATE DAYS OFF!

I know you're supposed to take them and you need to recover but I always feel so unproductive! But anyway my wife's getting a sore throat and maybe a cold and I'm hoping I don't get it - no kissing for a couple of days!

How's everybody doing? My pants don't feel much looser so I don't know how the WI will turn out this Friday... I'm doing pretty good with my eating but I am cheating a little here and there - not much though...

Have a nice day!

Awesome job!!!!  I love hearing people that started as non-runners talk about running those distances.  Gives me hope!

I have a few 08 goals, although only one right now is set in stone and registered for:

Cherry Blossom 5K(Apr. 08)

Indoor Triathlon (spring 08

Sprint triathlon (TBD...work may cause the one I had initially planned to change) (late summer/fall 08)

longer road race for the end of the year...a 8 or 10 K race. (fall/winter 08)

Great job, Laurie! Such great strides from where you were when you started! Great feeling, isn't it?

I didn't do any tri's last year - a few running races...

From August 2006 to April 2007 my father-in-law was diagnosed and fought a losing battle with all types of cancer and I was with him at all of his appointments, treatments, transfusions, etc. and just never got into a real workout groove and really haven't been really motivated until maybe a month ago...

I think I have actually "turned the corner" and feel mentally and physically the way I felt before he got sick...

He was really a great man and person (2nd only in standing to my own father) and it's just a real shame that such great people (my dad is still with me) have to be taken so soon (father-in-law was 73 and in excellent health)...

so anyway... my plans for 2008 are to get back into tri's the way I was two seasons ago and to do as respectable as I did at that time (best race was 10/61 in my AG)...

thanks in advance for all the support we'll give each other...

everybody tells me I gotta get the DVR option with my cable but I just figure if I don't have the time to watch the shows now - I definitely won't have the time to watch them whne they're taped...

they'd just back up and I'd never make any progress watching them - I'd always be episodes behind!

although my wife and I do take advantage of OnDemand programming and watching several episodes in a row of premium series... Curb Enthusiasm, Dexter, Sopranos, etc.

The DVR is good for Saturdays and Sundays...when there is absolutely nothing on.  And with the writer's strike...it's giving me something to watch on these nights my shows aren't on anymore.  But I am typically 1-2 weeks behind on some shows, LOL

WTG Laurie!

My main goal during the holidays is to continue logging. I don't care if it puts me at 100 pts for the day, I'm going to log it. In the past I haven't been completely honest with myself over what I was eating. It did no harm to anyone but me. This time is different.

As to 2008 goals, so far:

Surf City USA 5K (Pacific Shoreline) (Run) - 2/3/2008 in Huntington Beach, CA

Carlsbad 5000 (Run) - 4/6/2008 in Carlsbad, California

and my first tri - Xterra Wetsuits Spring Sprint Triathlon - 5/4/2008 in San Diego, California

and volunteer for Ironman California in March.

DH's all expense paid trip to Iraq will be factoring in to whatever else I do after my 1st tri. Sometime in there I may be going on a cruise with my parents for their 50th anniversary.

We've put off getting one for the very same reason; however both DH and I are training on the same nights and pretty much like the same couple of shows, so we've decided to go ahead and get one and see how we use it over the next year. If we find we're backing up on the shows, we'll just turn it back in.

There should be a link somewhere on the Ironman site of the particular race you're thinking about. I got lucky in that someone on this forum is a volunteer team captain so I contacted him. The race is happening where I live
