Hi everyone - I won't be around much this week until the 27th.  I'm visiting my parents in St Louis.

Sounds like some really interesting conversations were happening around balance and how to keep, or in some cases gain balance around how much we do for others.

As they say, it's important to take care of ourselves first, so we can better take care of others.

I'm not usually big on New Year's resolutions either, but this year - I am resolving to be serious about getting this weight off.

Last night I saw a picture of myself from when I was at goal (it was at a triathlon also) - I looked pretty darn good, then I saw a pic that my daughter took of my yesterday - I was like - what the heck happened!

yep, time to quit fooling myself!

I hope everyone has a great week!

It does tend to sneak back up on you, doesn't it Beth

I'm down .2# today. I happy dancing over it. You wouldn't believe the week I had. It included almost blowing up my house (I'll get around to posting about it when I can think about it without crying) and pigging out on deep fried onion rings, fudge, wedding cookies, more fudge, and a 4" thick hamburger and shake. LOL

I'm off Tuesday through Tuesday and don't know how much I'll be online between now and then.

Happy Holldays!

Hey everyone! I'm back from my WW meeting. I stayed the same this week, but given all the holiday parties and food gifts at work this week, I'll take it.

I hope everyone celebrating has a safe and very Merry Christmas.

Hi there -- and I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday week... full of rest, health, and joy.

I've been MIA for a few weeks, traveling and finishing up the semester. I haven't been on an actual training schedule or eating in a planned and orderly way for three weeks. I can tell I've gained weight, since my clothes are snug. But I also decided not to weigh myself until Jan 1. I'm on vacation this week, and it feels like a total luxury to be in one place for a week... with the time to work out every day. Maybe I'll hold steady this week, despite the wonderful, delicious, irresistible food

Re: the conversation in last week's thread about taking on way too much... I suffer from the same ailment. I tend to carry around lots of little projects that are unfinished, things I've promised to someone else, or hoped to complete/perfect. It basically means that I always feel "behind" on things. What a burden...

So for Advent, I tried to "give up" something every day, some little project that I was holding onto, something I'd agreed to do, something that wasn't quite perfect... or just saying no to something... It was sort of like a reverse resolution -- because I didn't want the resolution to just be adding stuff to my "to do" list. ... Trying to figure out how to make this a way of life!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Hey guys/girls!

Hope everybody had a nice holiday - goes too fast! Especially if you've got kids!

Today I got on the scale and I'm up to 217.5 - I know it's all holiday junk so I'm not too worried...

Hope you guys might have some good news when you weigh-in...

have a good New Year!

Hi everyone!  I'm up too, but not too worried about it.  Did not track on Christmas Day -- it may have sent etools into shock, so I didn't track.  Started tracking again on Wednesday, but I'm WAY over this week.  Work has been hectic, I haven't worked out since Monday, and I'm still eating junk that's in the house.

I went to Corner Bakery for lunch yesterday, thinking I would be good and have a chopped salad.  It was good alright -- 810 calories, 61 grams of fat, and 10 grams of fiber -- a 20 point salad!  Of course, I realized this after the fact.  My goal for this week is to stay within my points (today is the beginning of my WW week), something I haven't done for several weeks now.

No WW meeting this week due to the holidays, and my work group will have their last meeting next Friday, January 4.  We're going to try to get another session going, but each time we've done this, it's been a challenge to get enough people.  Maybe it won't be hard this time since it's January.

Happy New Year, everyone!

I hope you can get a new group going!  We did at work - although I have yet to make a meeting
