Okay people, little help here. I am starting to freak out a scooch. I just looked at my training plan and this is my last week of base building. Monday March 8 begins my 20 week countdown of hard training. Ahhhhh, I havent figured out the nutrition piece yet, havent goten my body fat down to where I would like, and just feel like I am not ready to begin this road just yet. Give me another few weeks. Please Please Please. Oh well, I guess I need to do what they all say on the Ironman Training blogs - HTFU. Here's to the next 20 weeks - I am hoping you all can help me get through it sanely.

I don't think most of us are ever exactly where we want to be when we transition into our different training plans, let alone when we race.  At least I know that I am never am.  From what I've seen, you'll be just fine and kick some arse!

I win the prize for the biggest klutz-

I had my second bike crash-- both of them in the driveway.  This one was hard enough that I ripped the cleat off the bottom of my shoe on the way down.  Ouch.  I felt great all day yesterday, but today my body is aching.  We'll see how my body recovers-- a couple bruises and a slightly tweaked knee and ankle.   Bike shoes were an easy fix at the bike shop-- my ego will take a bit.

Tuesday-bike crash -- 3 mile hill walk
Wed- easy swim, hot tub (after the 24 hours of ice) and lots of stretching

Erica - you poor thing. I was going to ask regarding your back pain/soreness when riding how long have you had the bike? Was it fit or did you do it yourself? How long have you been riding recently? I know that the first few rides of the year always "hurt" a bit.

Scott - relax - especially on the body fat, 1) it will get there 2) In my line of work I've come to realize that we are never happy. Choose wisely, train hard and you will get the results you want.

I am so happy to be running again I've run every day this week. Nothing on tap for today, I overbooked myself with work, o I'll be busy.

Did a decent but slow 6 miler tonight in 8:04 pace. Legs were still kinda sluggish from spinning last night.

I've had my bike less than a year, and after getting clipless pedals for christmas the bike shop guys adjusted it for me.  My back hurts after a ride at the gym though.  Maybe I don't have the bikes there set to the right level.-- Those bikes are probably not designed for short people like me.

I continued my klutzey week by almost setting fire to the house.  It takes skill to incenerate  beans  and  force evacuation from the house for 24 hours.  Weekend work out was non-existant, unless you count cleaning up smoke dammage for 2 days straight.

First tri of the season is in 2 weeks--- EEK  At least it is an easy sprint-- except for the 6% grade hill (.4 mile long-- not horrific) that you go up twice on a bike and once on the run.  300m swim in an indoor pool, 12 mile bike, 3.1 run.

Scott - you are working hard and I bet you'll be happy with the results!

I am thrilled to report that I ran (yes ran) 28 miles last week - so glad my knee is back in working order

And I am hoping that you all are having better weather like we are in NJ!

After being sick or having allergies for a few days I decided to suck it up and do my 12.38 miler. Although my breathing was better, the torrential downpours made it so I couldn't feel my fingers. Oh well still did a pretty good pace.

I've noticed that my lungs are having to recover from the fire...  Not fun but that is life.   I thought I did more than this last week, but I forgot to log it each day...

Monday-Aerobics
Wednesday- Aerobics
Friday -Aerobics, 12 mile bike, 3 mile run, on race course-- my lungs felt like they were going to explode going up the hills on the bike.  Run wasn't so bad except for shin splints.  I will finish the race and beat last year's time.
Sat- Easy 1 hour bike ride with a friend
Today is Aerobics and 30 min swim

Did a decent 1250 in the pool today. I just wish I can get faster - but cant figure out what I am doing wrong and dont have the coin for a trainer/coach thingy; nor do I have the availability for a Masters program. Ugh. As long as I can just do the distance in the time alotted - right?

Awesome swim after aerobics today.  Timed my 300 for the race sat.  6:41 3 minutes faster than last year!

When I want to improve my time in swimming I focus on being streamlined. and keeping my body long and stretched out.  You can do it!!!!!
