skrtrnr - 2010-03-25 11:07 AM this is the guy were going to see play.   i had a MAD crush on him in college.  not being the uber hottie i am now, he would talk to me, but i never 'caught' his eye.

love, love, love his music.....and still have a bit of a crush.....

I bet you would catch his eye now!

i can always tell he recognizes me when i go to hear him play.  he waves/smiles.

too bad he's very much in love with his wife.

i get to hear just how much everytime i listen to his music.

lucky girl.

I have made an executive decision that I am leaving work at 1:00 today to go get my bike.

My weekend is busy, and I think picking up my bike will be good therapy for my knee.

Plus I can post pictures sooner.

Hi guys. We picked up the bikes from the not-so-local LBS yesteray aternoon. They lost the speedplay pedals for hubby's bike. Lost them. But they wouldn't admit it. Javelin is taking care of us, though. And we will never go back to that shop again. It's a 40 minute drive from my house anyway. Tri club sponsor or not, I am not happy with them.
In better news, we got hubby sopme sweet cycling shoes at REI as they were closing last night, then came home, swapped pedals around, and got hubby comfy on his bike. Now I just need to go to the much more local LBS to have the seat post trimmed on my bike. I can barely reach the pedals, LOL. Hopefully this weekend we'll get to ride together, then I can start trining in earnest on my new bike!!  I'll post pics as soon as I can.

Howdy Ghoulies! I just gave a fitness test to a young man getting ready to go to OCS next month. He ran his 1.5 miles in 8:15. It was a slow day for him. Jerk.

Time to get some quick work done, catch up really quick here, and then head out for a a doctor's appointment.

kcarroll - 2010-03-25 7:23 AM So I was looking through Runners World from a few months ago.  The Marathon issue.  It had rankings for all the *best* marathons.  Best: for families, spectators, amenities, value, BQ, scenery etc.  The #1 overall race is in Missoula MT.  It's in July and unfortunately I can't make it this year, but 2011 it is going to happen.  Anyone want to run it with me?  BTW, still keeping fingers and toes crossed for the NYC lottery.

Also, full disclosure....I was born in Missoula.  I have some very cool cousins that still live there.  It will be a party weekend.

I read this article as well and this race sounded awesome. I love the idea of destination races. Unfortunately they're just not very practical for me right now. However, someday I will have time for races like Missoula, Big Sur, Alcatraz, Coeur d'Alene, etc. I also want to do a tri in Alaska for some weird reason

x2 on all. Also, I'd make sure that your fellow tri clubbers are aware of how their "sponsor" treated you guys. In an industry where service is really the only thing that sets a store apart, that sounds like a pretty poor example.

wgraves7582 - 2010-03-25 10:21 AM Hope all is well Tom.  It was slow for us back when we were 18 right? (not me but it sounds good now that I am 43 )

He was actually 22, but that's still just freakish. This guy is used to running the 1.5 mile in 7:45 or so. He's also thinking about doing a HIM race the weekend before he leaves for OCS just for fun. Freak

AN AFTERNOON QUOTE FOR THE VILLAGE:

'the question of how resilient we are in the face of change and uncertainty is the difference between living a contracted, fearful life and a wildly innovative, fully self-expressed and ecstatically creative life'

hmmmmm.

wonder if this has any personal application??
