Hi everybody! Been pretty busy but getting in some decent workouts. I'm down for the everyday challenge. Yesterday I hit 40 min, 9.3 mi on the spin bike at my gym, and then did about 15 min of core work. Today I had my adult swim lesson and ran on the treadmill for about 25 min afterward. I'm pretty much over the treadmill already. Snow needs to GO.

What's going on today?

I've gotten 20 minutes of yoga in, that's it. I had hopes of a trainer ride, but the heart rate has been erratic all day, so that isn't happening.

Going to watch some football soon. Go Steelers!

After my bike ride, I did some core & upper body work last night. Ran 6.5 miles outside this morning! Glad to see others out enjoying their weekend, too!

ironannekidd - 2011-01-23 1:51 PM What's going on today?

Busy with church stuff in the am, and working a night shift tonight.

Did manage to squeeze in a 30 min treadmill run, which is my fallback exercise to do on a day that I'm too busy for other stuff. In honor of it being Sunday, I listened to all spiritual themed music which was nice.

Back to the drawing board on my road bike finding process. The fitter at my LBS did not like the geometry of the Surly Pacer for me - which is a bummer because I did like the steel frame option and there aren't many other choices in my price range. Now looking at a Cannondale Synapse alloy/tiagra.

Anne, sorry to hear about your arrhythmia issues. That has to be frustrating to want to work out and have an obstacle like that. Keep us updated.

Question of the day. What is on your workout playlist? I don't listen to music when I run, unless I'm on a treadmill, but if I'm on the trainer, or strength training, working the punching bag, whatever, I have some songs I like to listen to.

Good morning everyone.  Because of time constraints (work, kids, etc.) trying to get up early and get stuff done before everyone gets up.  Did a 500m swim at the gym this morning @ 5:30.  I've been so use to going to the gym at night that this will take some getting use to.  We'll see how it goes.  Hope everyone has a good day.

Aloha all

Had a bust lap top at home and a  virus on my work laptop. Took me a while to get back up and running again.

And on that note I am due to start running again for the first time in about 2 years. So 27 minutes walking and three minutes jogging for today. I will do it later, I am going to watch my youngest take the lead in his drama groups production. My oldest was in a film just released her in the UK but he can't go and see it as it is an 18 or for adults only. It is quite violent about Glagow gang culture in the 70's (it is called 'Neds')

As for workout music, well you can't beat ac/dc I am afraid but I do have some dance music and Divine (if anyone remembers him). Also I love 'Always look on the bright side of life' (Monty Python) I'd put a link but I don't want to offend anyone's sensibilities.

I like AC/DC, too, I wish I could get them off of iTunes though. Someday I will probably break down and buy a cd or 2.

That's cool about your son being in a movie, even if he can't see it.

As far as the 27 minutes of walking, and 3 minutes of running. You have to start somewhere!

Get the sound track to 'Ironman 2' for a fair ac/dc collection.

Yeah you got to start somewhere and I do take comfort that it is more about the journey than the destination. But know I have sleep apnoea under control I feel I have so much more energy and I have a renewed passion.

I didnt get the tests for the 100 challenges done last week so I will this week and get those started.

Good job.  Even when it's tough, you were able to "slog" through it.  Keep it going.

Today's workouts are brought to you by the number 3 and the number 8. Today is my birthday, so the challenge for the day is to do 3 of something, 3 reps, 3 laps, the somethings, or 8 somethings today. Ready.... GO!
