Saturday's run was 6:30AM after a long day of Friday drinking, but it went better than I expected. Almost to 100. I have had a few runs the day after some heavy drinking. I actually ran a marathon this after some heavy drinking, it gets the demons out of my system quickly. Good job on getting out there and almost 100 days of streaking. I've come home from watching football at a bar, laced up the sneakers and hit the roads. Ouch. |

1439 | Subject: RE: 30 runs in 30 days - who's with us? Day 714, 3 early morning miles. I hate tapering, I just get my legs loosened up and the run is over. Oh well, I plan 2 miles tomorrow and 2 more Friday before the marathon Saturday. I am hoping these 51 year old legs can carry me to a sub 3:20. If not I will crash and burn trying. |

Congrats on hitting 100, and on the 100th page of this thread. Nice to see your streak going at 101, and the thread as well. Lot of good stuff going on. 2 people hitting 100 this week. Navbtcret with 2 years coming up really soon, and running his ???th marathon this year. LumberDad coming off his 50 miler. I'd keep going regardless, but its nice to have the motivation here. #382- 4 mi recovery |

Extreme Veteran 737 | Subject: RE: 30 runs in 30 days - who's with us? #101: 3.05. I stacked up the minutes and the miles too high early in the week. Mostly, I think it was the fault of this sweet hill in Green Ridge State Forest this Sunday. It was never very steep and the top always seemed right around the next bend. I never did find the top. You guys are right about one thing though - It sure is addicting. I am mesmerized by the accretion of days and miles. I like losing count for a few days; calculating the new totals is like opening a little present. My current streak is going to end soon, and setting the odometer back to zero is going to hurt. |

No off for a 15 hour drive to Georgia with a friend of mine for the Soldier marathon Saturday. Hope you hit your sub 3:20 goal. Have a good race. #384- 13.1. Training run. I have a hard time doing a 13 mile training run and not doing the .1, same with 6 miles and not the extra .2. Ran well, a bit too close to race pace this far into my taper, but I want to stay sharp. Up till next weekend I will be taking it easy, maybe one day with a few miles near race pace, a few strides perhaps, but otherwise, I will enjoy bringing down the mileage and letting my body really rest up with just a few miles per day. |

Time flies when you're having fun! I'm hoping to get out for a 17 miler tomorrow. I want to run the bike course of the first triathlon I did. I think it could make for a fun day. I need to get pumped for it though - feeling lazy. Edited by Justin86 2013-11-09 4:20 PM |

1439 | Subject: RE: 30 runs in 30 days - who's with us? Day 716, 2 miles Day 717, 26.52 miles Day 718, 1.1 miles I did not get the 3:20 nor really close. Just past mile 2 there was really to only steep hill on the course and as I was powering up the hill my left Achilles area went twang. It hurt like you know what but I kept at for a slower pace for next 1 or 2 and then I picked it back up and by mile 10 I was back on pace for the 3:20 but by mile 13 I knew it would not be. The pain was just too much and It made me alter my stride which caused my left knee to give me grief. I had 5 fallen Soldier's and Sailors names pinned to my shirt, two sailors I served with who were killed during a fire onboard the ship I was on, so not finishing was not an option. I kept at it and managed to finish in 3:39 and some odd seconds, not really sure the exact time, it is not listed on the site yet. I did manage 1.1 miles this morning and could've gone farther but I still had better than a 9 hour drive back home. The pain is tolerable so I should be able to run through this by cutting back the speed and miles for a week or two. It was still a very rewarding marathon to overcome a bit of adversity and hopefully what turns out to be no more than a strain. Streak on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Good job keeping the streak, and congrats on the marathon. You ran for a good cause, and that's far more important than any time goal. So, again, congrats. |

Regular 1362 Jenison, MI | Subject: RE: 30 runs in 30 days - who's with us? Originally posted by ImSore ImSore is 100% right. Stopping at 30 is not easy. I'm on my second streak. First one ended on day #74 (if memory serves) due to an injury. Yesterday afternoon was a 2 miler that felt surprisingly good despite a serious lack of sleep over the weekend and mental exhaustion. It was #105, and then I went home and did 90 minutes on the trainer. Originally posted by Flashmandog I'm up for the challenge as well. Thanks for posting this one. Flashmandog Welcome aboard.
