Great job on the marathon, you really did fantastic. If your BQ is 3:10 I am sure you will get in for 2015 as you are over 2 minutes faster than your BQ time. Looking forward to hearing more details about the race. Great job again on a sub 3:10 marathon, keep at it and you will have a sub 3 hour marathon before long. It this a pr for you too?

#110 - 5k
#111 - 3.53
#112 - 3.32

After running a total of 5 miles in 4 days, I ran the MMRF 5k at the National Harbor in DC on Saturday. It was a decent race, although I'm not sure how much I liked running on the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. I'm still not quite right, but I finished in under 30 minutes, enjoyed myself, and didn't collapse into a pile of cough at the finish line.

Why stop there!! I am jealous of you getting some training on the bike in. After my marathon, I have a bit of recovery, then I have to get myself back in the pool and on the bike. To say I've neglected my swim/bike over the last 3 months would be an understatement.

#394 - 2 miles. First few steps were iffy, but managed 2 miles going really easy.

Thanks all. The marathon was a PR, and I am hoping to put forth a good effort to go sub 3 next year. Maybe a bit more volume, and tempo work provided my body is up to it, and I think its doable.

Race report is posted. http://beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid...

#395- 2 mi.

Better than yesterday, but hamstrings tight. Feet and lower legs felt pretty good actually.

Actually, no plans on stopping at 200. It just seemed like a good manageable goal. After 200, the goal will be a year...but first things first!

Monday #113 - 2 easy miles
Tuesday #114 - 4 miles speed work intervals...felt far better than I expected, giving me the feeling I should either increase my pace on the speed intervals or add another 2 sets. Tonight was .5 mile warmup, then 7x .25 speed & .25 recovery run pace.

I was actually able to hold a recovery run pace that wasn't too bad (~9:00 min/mile). Surprised me. I guess despite the fact that I have been at this for 4 straight months, improvement in running still comes as a surprise to me.

Good to hear. I hope to get "back on my feet," soon also.

I feel much better today, hamstrings still tight though. The problem is that I want to be able to run more, but know I can't.

#396- 4 mi nice and easy.

#115 - 4 miles easy. Then home for an hour on the bike trainer.

I keep saying it, but I don't think I could have ever run 4 miles "easy" before. It was always a struggle after about 2, and tough to keep going. I'm feeling so much better now. And I think since I have been 95% or more indoors on the treadmill, it has helped out my PF issues a little bit. I'll see when I get my next outdoor run in, but for now I am enjoying the treadmill so I am not limping around the entire next day.

Way to stay at it Brad and good to hear the PF is not causing you much distress.

#115a: Woke up really late this morning, so I only had time for a mile and change. Heading out for #115b when I get home.

PF sucks. DOMS is awesome, but PF sucks. Hope the treadmill continues to work out for you.

Day 731,15.2 miles. Today is my two year mark of my running streak, I have ran everyday for two years in row now. In the two years of the streak I have ran a total of 6,557.24 miles. I have also ran 12 marathons, a 50k, a 50 miler and a 100 miler in those two years with many other shorter races. Hopefully I can keep this streak going for another 20 years, that'll make me 71 then but it can be done.

Your mileage over the last 2 years is enough to run across the US coast to coast, then back, and then another 1/4 of the way across. Roughly.

Congrats on the 2 year mark, including all the races you've done your achievement is truly remarkable.

#399- 2 mile recovery.
