I saw that this weekend. Quality. I see you're still alive. Are you going to run Chicago or not? I'd err on the side of caution if you've got a nasty variety of strep... unless you have a miraculous recovery by Wed, and then run-walk the thing for practice. I'm taking a wait-and-see approach. It is a nasty strain, but hopefully the antibiotics will kick in and get rid of it. The thing is, I know I was already undertrained, and now, after hardly running at all for the last couple of weeks.... yikes. If I run at all on Sunday, it will be interspersed with a significant amount of walking. |

The downside - and I'm sure Scout/Tim will confirm this - of doing this kind of a distance undertrained, even if doing a lot of walking - is that you'll inflict some kind of injury on yourself that will make training for a while afterwards difficult... Yep. I'm very much aware of that--and it's probably the biggest reason I'm considering bailing and waiting until LA. |
