CONGRATULATIONS TO WHO'S YOUR MARMADADDY?! BUT remember that this is only the SECOND week of the challenge! January is only 41.9% completed. There's still time to help your team achieve that #1 ranking! So get out there and Swim/Bike/Run!... And then Swim/Bike/Run some more! Dee and Beth I like these numbers better! |

Elite 4148 Utah | Subject: RE: Flying Fish II Mornin' Fishies... Well, I finally got in the pool today. Going to try and start things aoff right and hopefully make it in again on Friday. Though not sure when, just remembered I'm not at work in the am. Hmmm? I'll figure something out. Got 1450 yds, doesn't seem like a lot, think I could have gotten more, but felt like I kept waiting for more instructions from the coach. Wish I could've gotten another 300 in. Okay, goal for Friday... another 800!! |

Master 1292 Houston | Subject: RE: Flying Fish II I have completed my morning swim; 1350 yards. I did 3 sets of 450 yards with about a 1 minute break between. I was tired for the last set but I managed it in the same time as the first. It was a very comfortable pace. I will begin pushing it a little harder toward the end of the week. I hope to get to the pool each morning the rest of the week, but rain is moving in and they are funny about keeping the pool open. I might have to pay to play on the rainy days, we'll see what they do. Have a great day Fish!!! |

Master 1567 Kauai, Hawaii | Subject: RE: Flying Fish II Thanks for your well wishes fishes! I spoke with the Director of Nursing (who used to be my old nurse manager) yesterday morning, she was expecting me! Hawaii nursing is all under union contract and unfortunately it doesn't matter what your experience is if you have not done acute nursing in 5 years you are like starting as a new nurse. Understandable, but to get back to your pay that you were making when you left takes too long! That needs to be changed in the contract. I will be in on that when the time comes. Any ways they did go to bat and were able to give me 7 months back meaning I got a couple of more $ an hour. I should be back to the pay that I had in less than a year instead of over year and half. This would also apply to a nurse that works home health or long term care for five years and then applies back to acute care nursing. I feel better that I fought, I did get something for it! Now I can sleep better! |

Swimmin' with the snakes... Geez, brings back memories of home. At least the bayou's there in town don't have commercial boat traffic (unless you live closer to the shipyards than I would expect). Edited by geauxtri 2008-01-15 12:54 PM |
