I was just looking at the spreadsheet and I'm a wee bit concerned.  Granted, I haven't had time yet today to swipe data from your logs so it's definitely not completely up to date (though I did add week 1 and week 2 totals together for anyone who didn't record a cumulative total yet) but let's just say that I'm a-hoping it's a big bike weekend for lots of peeps.  Keep in mind we're at the halfway point so you should be at or above 50% by Monday, mmmmmm'k?thx.

I was hoping it wouldn't come to this... but here's a new one ...

By tomorrow night I'll be at the 50% cumulative mark - I promise - Or, you can whack me again just for good measure

Hee hee... that is hilarious!!!  I think new bikes arriving on a Friday afternoon deserves celebratory cocktails... smoothies... whatever floats your boat... just enjoy it!

Still no bikes yet.  Amy had to go to work, so hopefully her sitter will sign for them.  Got my pedals (yellow).  Jack and coke still might be a good idea even without the bikes yet.

I do have 45 min to log.  My riding will really start addin gup next week.

Well yes, of course!  Those are the pre-bike arrival celebratory drinks.  Then there's the actual arrival... and then of course the post opening celebration...

LOL... that might look good on my handlebars!  Or, I could have it sticking out of my Poison Ivy bike jersey.  Yes, yes it is pink and it does, in fact, say "this girl is poison" on the inside of the back pocket.

Oh, I have great faith that you'll be putting some miles on that new ride!

By the way, did you avoid the storms?  I'm watching the Mississippi State game and it looks like a tornado just hit the Georgia Dome.  There are holes in the roof and the beams were swinging around.  Crazy stuff.

That's what I'm talkin' about!!!!! 

We didn't get hit tonight, though we do live in Fulton County, so we were under warning and waiting for the sirens.  Last week the park where I run got hit and lost THREE HUNDRED trees.  So much for a great shady place to run in the heat of summer.  Crazy stuff, indeed.

I hope they get the GA dome fixed fast... I got me some tickets for Sunday .

OK, I'll try to behave.  I'm a little giddy.  Having to spend a lotta time in a locker room waiting for the stupideyhead twisters to pass does that to a person.

Oh, and the dude that had the fastest time is 15 years old.  He finished in 53 minutes, which is what... 28mph?

Stay safe Mila.  I see they had to move the SEC tournament to Georgia Tech.  That was some scary stuff in the Dome last night.

Thanks, yes, they did move the tournament (I'm not sure how that even affects my tix for tomorrow yet) and it's been just a crazy 24 hours here.  At one point it was scary dark and pouring in my front yard and sunny in the backyard.  The northern suburbs (where we are) took a major beating today.  Many of our families spent the day in basements or, as I mentioned, for me it was a locker room.  There have been a couple of fatalities thus far.  However, I believe the worst is over now and we're all just looking at trying to clean up.  Many people right where I live are still recovering not only from last week's fun but also a major touch down just shy of two years ago that leveled several businesses and tore the roofs off of many houses in very upscale neighborhoods. 

Well the wrong Bulldogs won.  What an awful game.  Hope they honor those tickets, mila.

Before the high wears off to much more and turns in to exhaustion I wanted to share with all you powerful pink pinks that I had THE BEST RIDE OF MY LIFE TODAY!!!!

Today as part of a coached club ride we did:
3.5 km hill repeats at your lactate threshold up a mountain with a  7.5% grade.  it was my first time tackling something like this and we had to climb  a hill to get to this hill and man it was hard work but SO REWARDING!!! The first time I came so close to puking. The second time I found this amazing zen where I was working really hard but it all just worked.  The third time my legs were really feeling it and I fought all those negative thoughts that pop in your head and conquered it!  And the best part of going up a big hill like that? ZOOMING DOWN!!!  I hit a top speed of 67.4 kph (42mph). 

Endorphines and adrenaline-- the best high ever!!!
And I felt awesome at the end.   Legs are recovering well but ask me again in the morning.

Oh! and I'm new to club, and today I got to wear my brand new Chicks Cycling Club kit for the first time- I think it has superpowers.

I haven't figured out what's better, the feeling of really conquering a hill, or how fast you get to go down them.

Great job!!!  I love climbing hills for just that reason... accomplishment.  And, uhhh, I like that feeling better than the descents.  I get a little askeered once I hit the 40 mph mark.

Oh, and yes, endorphins rock!!!!  So it seems that there are what I call spin groupies: people that  follow a particular instructor from class to class, sometimes even gym to gym or multiple locations of a gym chain.  Someone once asked me how I felt about that (did I feel it was weird/stalkerish) and I explained it like this... I am a drug dealer.  I deal in endorphins.  They are endorphin junkies and they come to me for their fixes .

HAHA! that's a great way to think of it.  I for one am definitely an addict.

How'd we all do this week?

I am at 49.7% of my goal, right where I need to be.  I have 12h5m left to do, and 13h16m planned for the rest of March.  So if I stay on plan, I'm there.  I can even skip an hour. 

Kind of hard to make plan with no saddle!! unless, of course, that's how you like to roll..NTTIAWWT!!)

I did get some time in this weekend - I'm behind on my goal - darn flu!

I'll get there though, no worries

I'm @ 55.5% - I have what is supposed to be my minimum week the last week of the month, but I'll do what I need to do to keep the Pinks on top
