So who actually plans on running tomorrow for the 4th?  It's a scheduled rest day for me, but I might get some cross training in anyways.

Everyday here is a Monday -- Everyone trains on a Monday

I will be out for my bike ride in the AM and then my run in the PM .... just another day

Well, first things first...if you're going to join this group you can't be talking about kilometers 'cause I suck at conversions! tee hee! Seriously though - PLEASE come join us. It'll be fun to have someone from "down under" in our group. You'll do great at the 1/2 marathon, I'm sure.

OK I think 1.6 kms = 1 mile so 120kms = 75 miles. But I'll still log everything in kms on the spreadsheet!!!  I've done heaps already this month but I don't leave on holidays until the 12th of July, thats when its going to get tricky. I *might* have to increase my goal later ...

Congrats on the weight loss, thats excellent!

I live just South of Seattle   I'm originally from Scotland as well.  I would take you for a Starbucks I love Vancouver. Love, love, love it. Especially Stanley park.

Ooooh we're going to be visiting Seattle - my husband wants to see the Boeing factory and my uncle will be taking us windsurfuing at Hood River. I was going to visit Seattle when I was last in Vancouver 10 years ago but at the time there was heaps of snow so we couldn't go. I love Stanley Park too - I'll have to try to do a run through there

lyssa-gator - 2008-07-04 4:43 AM gotcha. just got back from running. it's HOT, it's COLD. it's SUNNY. it's OVERCAST. it's RAINING, it's dry. there's thunder and lightning, there's a rainbow. i'm drenched, it was WONDERFUL!!

Sounds like a great run! Well done on getting out there. The weather here is going to be quite stormy over the weekend so I think I'll be doing a similar run in the next few days!!!

Just got back from a 3 mile run with a Runnig Club that belongs to a bar called the Irish Snug.  It went well I think.  My garmin was acting goofy, but I had somewhere around a 22:57.  The distance was off, but the last 2 times I ran it they both came out to 3.05ish.  I am getting closer to the times I was running in PA before I left 4 weeks ago.  I will be happy when my body finishes adjusting to the altitude here in CO.

Oh yeah, tons of fun.  But I am getting closer to normal.  I doubt I will see my sub 7 mins again for awhile, but I am happy to maintaining sub 9 mins.  I am not sure if I can maintain the sub 8's that I did today or if it was a fluk.

I'm so NOT wanting to run today...someone HELP! I just have a picture in my mind of a really crappy day out in the heat...all day...with a 2 yr old who is trying to potty train. The thought of that is not making me want to waste my energy on a run today. UGH.

Not sure I am gonna make my planned run today. Been sick all night and had to drag my butt into work today....since most people are off and I couldn't call in sick.

This sucks. I am tired and feel like crap. I hope I can shake whatever it is I have got in the next day or two.

At least it should be quiet at work today......hopefully.

Have fun everyone out there in the real world!

I'll be back fighting fit soon and will crank up those numbers before you know it

Feel better!

I'm still not sure if I am going to run today. I definately will sometime this week though! I need to get ready to run a half marathon soon

Wow! That scrabble application is messed up. I had 7 games going with someone, and now I accidently started ANOTHER one, for a total of 8. (I forgot who the lucky someone is ,but they will find out as soon as they log into the application)!

Did you go out and run, or did you scratch it for today?  I think you should go for a shorter/easier run than you where planning, if you didn't go out yet.  Those kind always help relax me.  Maybe this evening once it cools off.

No, I didn't go out yet but unless I take running gear (and shower gear) to this party with me tonight I doubt I'll be getting in any miles today. Tomorrow is a different story, though.

OK. Totally off topic but I have a question for the Americans.  Yesterday I was told that I shouldn't celebrate July 4th because I'm not a citizen.  I was really offended by this remark.  You know. "When in Rome!".  Does this mean that Americans overseas shouldn't celebrate it either?  His reply? No, they are American. I could honestly have ripped him a new one.

Of course you can celebrate!!! I have been in Mexico during Cinco de Mayo; I have been in France during Bastile Day and I have been in Japan on the Emperor's Birthday and I have definately enjoyed, ate, got drunk and had a great time at all of them. So as a member of the United States Military I say --- HAVE FUN AND PARTICIPATE!!!!!!

You live in America right?  I think that whoever told you that is and idiot.  That would be like telling the non citizens in the military that they can't celebrate because they don't hold a citizenship.  I bet that is the same person that celebrates Cinco de Mayo or St Patricks day without thinking about it, though I am sure they are unlikely Irish or Mexican.  This is typical behavior from us Americans, sorry but that is how the majority of my society is.

What difference does it make whether you're a citizen or not? Go have yourself a wonderful 4th of July celebration.
