Air conditioner??? Yeah we are gonna need to pull out a heater here today. It is REALLY raining puddy cats and puppy dogs. NO bike today, was going to throw in an extra ride, but not in the rain. I gotta travel today, would rather sit in a bathrobe and stare out the window.

Ha! I am sitting in a bathrobe and staring out the window! I do not want to run in this humidity. When the atmosphere weighs more than you do, you know it's gonna be a bad run...

My running analysis went good.  It was a short session to check out my cadence and foot strike and upper body movement.  He just looked at the big picture.  Turns out that my running form is right on.  No problems with upper body and my cadence is a perfect 90.  On hills, he wants me to take baby steps so I can keep my cadence at 90.  He also suggested that my shin splints could be due to a muscle imbalance.  He gave me a shin exercise.  I'm supposed to report back in a few weeks and we'll go over some more things.  I'd like to work on speed work.  I think that's where my form falls apart.  I need to get these shins under control first.

thats great that your running form is right on! makes training alot easier when you don't have to focus so much on what your body is doing and can just enjoy the nice torture of running =)

Great news! Good luck getting through those exercises. Did he show you the dixie cup trick for icing? Take one of the small bathroom-sized dixie cups (trust me, you want the SMALLEST you can find!), fill it with water, then freeze. Rub and and down your shins (towel/bucket underneath ), peeling away the paper, until it is gone. Pain like you would not believe, but it works!

Caught up on the spreadsheet. Not getting in enough runs, but doing WAY more backpacking than planned, and my poor knees can't take any more.

Rode 20 miles today!!! 10.2 to a work meeting, 10.2 home. The ride there, I was holding a good strong pace (for me, somewhere approaching 17 mph) until I had to stop for freakin' construction. At the bottom of the hill, no less! Grrr! Blew myself out trying to get up the hill quickly and had to take a loooooong time to recover. The ride back was pretty painful - slow, several stops, grinding, but it was also nice to just ride.

My eval went...shockingly well! Like totally-out-of-nowhere well. Hey, I'm all for that! The raise is ncely timed, too.

Surprisingly I have enjoyed it.  I found ways to efficiently fill up my free time.  One more little swim today and then it's pure rest till Sunday

uhhhhummmm did someone say GOOD morning!! What is there to so happy about??? Sounds like he is enjoying his taper down. I am awake but have a most nasty headache, did not ride as scheduled, and may not later. I am doing a mighty long run on Sat and may let my legs rest today. Of course then I have to make up the bike later. Off to work...
Check list: crossed eyes - coffee - bathrobe - slippers - files - computer. CHECK, I am working from home today, well unless they arrest a guy I am waiting for. Later...

Good morning, (hope it gets better iLucy). I already have a 30 mile ride under my belt! My riding buddy and I did some nasty interval work at 6:45. If I weren't so sweaty, I'd have gone back to bed. I think my race on Sunday is going to be a painful experience. Oh well. It will be a good pain TGIF!
