Right here! Besides, wouldn't a nice little trip to Sunny San Diego be therapeutic enough by itself??? Stay Classy...

Mr. Anderson... Are you incinuating that I exude anything BUT class?

Absolutely not, Mrs. Speelman! Hence the need to stay classy

And don't you forget it! Because I WILL come out to SD and kick your @$$ yes, I know you'd like it, too

<---

Sounds good! Do you want me to redo the lettering like I did on my last design?

If you don't mind. I had wanted to work on it yesterday, but I took a nap instead.

No worries - I'm on it...

Thanks Man!

disturbed275 - 2010-01-06 7:58 AM Good morning Ghoulies!

Did anyone else enjoy the orange bowl as much as I did last night?

Neal - I watched it until I feel asleep and congrats!  The Big 10 is looking pretty good this year in the big bowl games.

How does that work for you being in Ames and a Hawkeye fan?

Big Ten definitely had a redeeming year, especially since they weren't supposed to handle the "speed" of Oregon and GT in the BCS games.  Good games by PSU and Wisconsin too.

It gets a little old being surrounded by cardinal and gold all the time, but there are actually quite a few of us misplaced hawkeye fans here.

And what does State really have to say except for the odd time when they win 1 game and it happens to be against Iowa!

I grew up in Big 8 land so I have no love for State either!

Even though I'm a State alum, I do NOT make a habit of apologizing for their generally sorry excuse for a football program. At the best of times they are inconsistency defined.

That said though, it should be noted for the sake of fairness that they did beat Nebraska in Lincoln this year and also beat Minnesota in their bowl game.

Actually I don't mind Iowa State except for those years where they decided the only game they are going to show up for is the Iowa game.  I, along with a lot of people, was shocked to see them make a bowl.  And who better to beat than Minnesota

I hear you - I set the alarm for 5 and didn't get up to work out but could not fall back to sleep either.

Don't like returning from vacation - my body wants to sleep in!

I was up at 4:30 to run before work, so now I am having the post-prandial droop.  I'd like a nap but I have to do someone's performance review and that would be considered rude I suppose.

Melissa, I can't even fathom swimming 4400 in one session.  I don't know if the Y is open long enough for me to complete that.Undecided

Kim - just tell them they are doing good and to wake you up in 30 minutes!

4400 is a good swim week for me - actually month right now!

Bill, Good idea on the perf review.  3 down and 8 to go.  I'd much rather just nap.  I hear you on the swimming.  My goal is to swim a minimum of 3 x week until the spring.  My Y is running a virtual swim challenge called Escape from Alcatraz.  You sign up for either 29 or 58 miles in 8 weeks, individual and team options.  I know I can do 29, but no way 58.  You chip in $20 and log your mileage in a binder on the pool deck.  Results posted weekly.  Drawing at the end for cool pool stuff.  Sounds like fun.

That's cool! I wish my Y did something like that. Your 4400 I think matches my total for all of 2009.

I follow Runner's World on FaceBook. They had a little blurb about New Balance getting their site up and running again, has valuable resources, yadda yadda yadda.

I look at the beginner half marathon training plan Day 1 of the plan has you doing a 7 mile run. There is no guidance anywhere that has you leading up to this, just right off the bat run 7 miles.  I think my plan from Hal had me starting off at 3 miles for my first run. It was either 3 or 4, that was a long time ago and I'm feeling too lazy right now to look it up.

I think their site needs a little work.

Not sure if we're using the same "Hal" plan, but mine started off at 3 as well. I agree - much less intimidating than a 7 miler at first, especially since I hadn't run more than 6.5 before I started the plan.
