Okay those are good and all, but this is how I spend my weekends …

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAkJgJ27uVQ

see if this doesn't motivate you to run a little harder and a little longer, or to do that extra set or 2 in the gym. Hang in there the really workout inspiring stuff doesn't start until 02:15 in.

GAH, got 5 miles in on the bike. Twisted my ankle as the bike skipped gears....  With this and all these flats... maybe it's a sign

To upgrade to all Dura-Ace DI2 set up?? I am thinking that is what someone is trying to tell you with all these signs.

I was looking a the SRAM Red Group. This rainy crappy dirty roads is killer on the bike. Would only put them on in nice weather/before the race.

Allright, 24 hours into my unemployment and it still sucks. Damn re-orgs. :-)
Still managed to go to the gym this morning, that's something at least.

I'd give my left arm for 60 degrees right now.  On my way out to the gym in 20 degree temp and snow as far as I can see.

Oh yea, this is why I moved to the south!   It must be almost 70.  I'm in heaven.  Outside ride yesterday, outside run today.  Now off the farmer's market.  I may head to the pool after the sun sets, just beause I feel so good today.

Oh, side bar... I was thinking about getting a coach.  Anyone here have one?  Just curious.

Beautiful weekend here in Memphis also.

Bagged my trail run on Sunday due to not feeling well.

Woke up late this morning to start my Olympic plan, will get it in this evening.

Basketball team is now 0-2, but we did score over 20 points this game!

Can any of you swimmers help me?  I have always just gone to the pool and did laps.  Sometimes I would go for speed and do 10 repeats, sometimes slower for distance.
Now, I am starting a base training plan for the next 10 weeks.  There are some very detailed swim workouts in it.  I Am not certain what some of it means...here is one workout
500m warm up
8 x 50m Drills
4 x 200m @ 20 sec
6 x 100m @ 15 sec
3 x 50m @ 10 sec
8 x 50m Drills
300m Cooldown
What does the "@20 sec" mean?  Any help would be appreciated.

As you know, I 'm a new swimmer, but I would read that to mean 20 secs rest between sets.  Your rest decreases as the distances decrease.

Regardless, I'm tired just reading that workout.

Normally I have seen them listed as 8x50 m @ :45, meaning you would take off at every 45 seconds. They way yours is listed looks like what Goosedog said and I would take it to mean you get 20 secs recovery between each 200 m.

The "@20 sec" means 20 seconds of rest between each of the 200m.  So swim 200, rest 20 sec.  Then do that 4x.  Then 100's with 15 sec. rest between each.  For the drills, I'm assuming they mean you can pick whatever drills you want.  If you need some ideas, I'm sure there are articles here on BT to describe and explain proper executuion.  I like the fist drill the best.

I'm baaacckkkkk from being out of town, thank God.  I would love to call that a vacation, but really, it was more stressful than work.

But I'm home where its' warm and sunny so back to training for me.

Great weekend for me, but now we're dealing with a nasty ice storm here in lovely Columbus, OH.  I had to skate down the drive today to get the recycle and trash to the curb as my wife busted her a$$ when she tried.... and we're supposed to get quite a bit more over the next day and a half.

On a brighter note, my first full month of training led to 69mi on the bike/28mi running/2.44mi in the pool.  Pretty paltry compared to the rest of the group, but a great start for me.  I weighed 232lbs when I started and today I weighed in at 218.

This site is helping me to stay motivated so I wanted to give ya'll a big thanks from icy Ohio!!
