Never had it, but it could be tight hip flexor. May want to cut back a bit, give it a chance to heal up. Not sure how useful the stretches are, but you can stretch on a foam roller or without, either way, best thing for it is probably rest.

I get it every once in a while and am not sure what it is either. Mine usually goes away in a few day but it also comes back too. When it gets real bad I use the foam roller to roll it out for a few days, it seems to help.

Day 790, 6.6 miles on the treadmill. I am going to run on it for every run under 8 miles between now and when I leave for Florida. I am turning the heat up to the mid 70's and letting warm up before I start to try and acclimate myself to the heat a little before the 100 miler. Not sure if it will help or not but it can not hurt. I sure had a good sweat worked up today.

Monday - #176 - 7 mile ladder up and back down.

Then I went home, and about an hour later, did 2 hours on the bike trainer...base training. Thank goodness for the DVR.

Been doing a bit of running on the treadmill, easier for me to jump off the bike and start running without having to get all dressed up. Gets really hot!! Not today though!!!

Day 792, 6 hot miles in the garage again today with 8 1/4 mile intervals. Just enough to stretch the legs out a bit but not enough to wear me out. Good workout today but I need to get outside soon for a run, the treadmill is just so boring.

Day 794, I got my last long run in before the 100 miler next Saturday. I ran an easy paced 13 miles today in 78 degree weather in my garage on the treadmill. I figured I would benefit more from that, seeing how the forecast is calling for mid 70's in Florida next Saturday, than I would from running in a couple of fresh inches of snow and 15 degrees with very gusty winds. I am hoping by this time next Saturday that I am 25 miles or so into the 100 miler, that is also after hurling myself out of an airplane at almost 14,000 feet prior to running. Skydive Ultra is definitely the most unique venue I have seen for doing an ultra so far.

Six more easy runs to go until the race and then I have a marathon, Tobacco road in North Carolina, 5 weeks after that followed by the Boston marathon 6 weeks after that marathon. I am not signed up for anymore yet but I plan on about 10-14 marathons or ultras this year.

Crazy schedule. Really cant say much more. If I get 5 races of any distance in a year, I am happy.

Right now I am about 3 months out from my first race this year. I may do something sooner, but not really sure. Still trying to hammer out a training plan.

Fun running today, lot of snow on the ground. Ran on and off road, was nice hitting pavement after hopping through ankle/shin deep snow. Probably did 1/4 of the run completely off road.

It's doing okay...running doesn't seem to bother it unless I am sore when I start the run, and then it gets a little achy after a few miles. It seems to be biking that is getting me, so it looks like it is time to back off for a bit and go have my fit adjusted a little.

Day 796, 8 miles with 8 strides just to stretch the lags out. Last speed work before the 100 miler Saturday. I did this on the treadmill in the garage at 80 degrees because that is the forecasted temp for Saturday in Florida and it is 8 degrees outside with very strong winds today. I am so looking forward to running outside every day again soon, this treadmill for the last week or so is getting to me. Only a couple of more runs on it though. Off for Florida early Wednesday morning and will get in there Thursday sometime, it is a long drive.

Day 797, 6 easy miles. I am on the road tomorrow morning for a 1300 mile drive so I may not post up much between now and after the ultra. I will run at least 2 miles every day before the ultra though but not more then 3 miles. Hoping for a sub 20 hour finish as the ultimate goal, finishing is the first goal. Temps are suppose to be in the mid 80's, not what I was hoping for.

It takes about 2 weeks to acclimate, so the treadmill running will have helped, maybe you can crank the heat on the way down and wear a jacket. I am not kidding either, I've read that people do that when getting ready for Badwater. For me at least, mid 80s may as well be 100 with my body used to 10 degree days, so I would do it.

Also, have fun on the jump. I am jealous. Maybe one year I can get that on my schedule. I look forward to hearing about it.
