Master 1870 Fort Worth | Subject: RE: Twisted Blisters II Ok I think this thing is finally turning around. I was able to sleep good last night with with minimal coughing. I plan to still take it easy with just small running sessions till I can do it all again, at least for another week. Should make my goal with no problem. |

I've spent nearly all my daylight hours at work lately, and I haven't quite figured out how to reconcile long days of work with getting up early to run beforehand. Ok, I'm out of excuses, haha. I'll get out the door tomorrow and actually do last week's long run. Hope you all are running more than I am!! |

I had a week like that myself - lots going on that got in the way - this week I'm on though! those early mornings are tough! Haha thanks. I took a quick look at the spreadsheet - looks like everyone is doing great. Oh yeah, and one more thing - I just registered for my first half marathon!! Ack!! I guess I have until March 9th to run enough that I don't DIE =) On the same vein...has anyone here followed Hal Higdon's plans? I'm a few weeks into his novice half marathon plan, and the only thing that worries me about it is that the longest run is 10 miles. I mean, I don't really have enough time to build up to a longer run than that before the race, but still is that enough to safely complete the half? ...In short - eek! What have I gotten myself into?? |

Veteran 164 Brrr-mont | Subject: RE: Twisted Blisters II Hi Blisters! I feel like I have been away, it's been pretty hard what with work and alll - silly work! Met with a new trainer this morning before work who thinks it's time to start focusing on bike workouts (been kinda slacking in that area) and transitioning from biking to running. I'm nervous, she said evil words like squats and lunges. Julie saw the new bikes - I have bike envy! I don't think it matters what you have for a bike as soon as you see someone's new one...you want THAT one! Well, that's me anyways It's snowing out, but the hubby and I just joined a running group, and they are running in the snow tonite, which will be fun... Hope everyone is healthy, happy and injury free! |

Master 1870 Fort Worth | Subject: RE: Twisted Blisters II Girl Passing on Left - 2008-01-14 8:11 AM Good morning all...Not much going on the thread...so, I thought I would let everyone know that I did buy two ride bikes yesterday for us. Nothing too fancy, but we thought they would be sufficient for us beginners. I bought a '07 Raleigh Cadent Full Carbon Bike and an '06 Giant TCR C3 for my hubby...we are still workiing on the daughters bike...we got all kinds of goodies....new helmets, shoes, pedals, shorts, seat packs, C2O fills with a pump, waterbottles, patches, knobby tire for those cross training days...so, I will be biking to and from work today. It is probably 12-15 miles...but with my computer will be able to tell you exactly when I return tonight! Every have a good day...I am going to inspire you all and go to work! Hope the inspiring works and everyone does some type of workout today! Have a great Monday! Here are pics of the bikes: and this is my hubbies new bike:
Congrats on your new bikes, they look great! |

Nice bikes Julie! Now get out there and ride, good thing you are almost done with your running goal. Be careful with that commuter traffic, sometimes here in "Joisy" they are not so nice. When is Hubby's blog going to show up here? |

Veteran 164 Brrr-mont | Subject: RE: Twisted Blisters II You know what is so cool about these challenges? They make me realize that sometimes...I UNDERestimate my own abilities. I hope that's true for you guys too...today, I ran and the 4 miles puts me less than 10 miles from my goal...how cool is that! I really thought when I started this month I would have a hard time and now...I wonder what else I have been selling myself short on... I love these challenges!!!! |
