kns57 - 2009-01-19 3:01 PM So Cat, did you have a good weekend? Any rides with certain bike people?

It was a busy weekend...

Saturday I went down and rode with Bike Boy

Sunday I road with the Tri girls and Cycle Guy turned up...

Im pretty much convinced there is nothing there now which is good as I can just accept it and get moving along! We were alone waiting for a coffee for awhile and it was just easy relaxed company but nothing else...

kns57 - 2009-01-19 2:42 PM Hello Nibbs. Anyone home?

Hi Kendra! Are you still with your daughter and grandchildren?

Yup. We are baby sitting tonight so that they could go out. Emma (1) is already in bed. Owen (newborn) just was fed and hopefully will fall asleep soon. Aiden (5) and Evan (4) are play Wii with Frank. So I cleaned the kitchen and the dishwasher is running so I thought I would pop on for a brief moment.

Nice to see you! Is everyone more relaxed and healthy after all the recent dramas?

Yes. Baby Owen gets a breathing treatment twice a day, but other than that he is doing extremely well. Both of the parents are very very tired. But I have a feeling with four kids age 5 and down, they are going to be tired for the next several years. LOL

Good news about owen.

being a parent of young children and being tired go hand in hand

Yes, it does. And when you throw in health issues it is just that much harder. They are a great couple and wonderful parents. You can see how important the children and their relationship is to each other.

Umm yes... thats insane having 4 of them that young!!! I think tiredness would just become a way of life at this point?

Yeah, but it is kind of hard on the rest of us. They get snappy with each other and we have to witness. But then all is good once they get it out of their system.

Aaaw as long as they know thats what it is then Im sure it will all be fine! Tiredness makes everything so hard

Nope two different guys:

Bike Boy: Longterm friend who has been around since I bought my bike

Cycle Guy: Work colleague who I found out a few months ago has been a seriously good cyclist (semi pro level) and who has been helping me with the triathlon girls stuff

Okay, here is a fairly typical conversation with Dave.   part way into it, other stuff pulled out

 me:  WT Heck?
I'm lost...
David:  i'm responding to your email in chat form
me:  got it-I hadn't read the first half dozen comments yet
David:  oh you should do that
start at the start
that's why they call it the "start"
me:  that doesn't always work with forums...when you are 1000 posts in
David:  yeah i'm not sure how people can keep those things straight
me:  If you spend much time on any one thread you get a general idea of what the conversations will entail.  periodically a summary will go up-you can always request that someone updates you rather than trying to go through a couple of hundred posts that popped up in the last 24 hours.  But that doesn't happen that often...unless you're on tan
me:  Tan can go through 20+ pages on a active day-that is more than 500 posts.
David:  that's why i'm stuck at "expert."  I have not mastered the forum chat
 me:  Most definately
David:  so i think next week i will have an address
and the bike can go there
me:  I am number 50 in post count (but that doesn't include those who hide their counts)
me:  you are number 456...you only need to pass up 406 other users and you will be right behind me.
David:  how close is number 455
?
me:  tied...make one post and you're there
9 posts and you will be #450
 David:  that's what I'll do...baby steps
me:  It is the last 100 posts that are hard to get through.  That
is where the big gaps start
David:  i'm going to make my own thread where i just keep replying over and over
me:  You would be soooooo slick.
David:  it will be entitled "Dave's Schizophrenic Adventure"
me:  everyone would be like-  !wow, He is so cool
That actually could be funny
David:  I'm surprised no one has tried it.
me:  Is one of your personalities going to be pregnant
David:  For example, a person could go from 50th to 1st really fast with that strategy...
Yes, but that personality won't do any training
me:  I only have 15,000 posts to go and I will be in the top 5.
I take that back-I would be number 4 and have knocked aside the bear.
It would be fun to top the resident curmudgeon
David:  He's got at least 5 years of a head start though
me:  It would be a lot easier to roam Cup of Joe...that is how I managed 1400 posts in September. That, and two challenge teams.
So?
The majority of the people in the top 100 have been around for 3 plus years.
David:  Hmm...if I really wanted to get to number one, I would just figure out how to hack into the database
I think that would take the least amount of effort
There has to be a field that has the number of posts
Wait, first i would do some experiments to see how the post count works
me:  but you would get kicked off bt for being a very poor sport.  :P
David:  so like, if i make a post, can i delete it?  and if i delete it does the post count go down again
no one would know i did it
 me:  Can't delete a post-only admin can
David:  because i would bribe you with 15,000 posts to keep your mouth shut
okay, so i would make a really offensive post
so an admin would delete it
and then i can see what happens
i'd be like "women can't do triathlons!"
and just wait
me:  umm, better make it slightly offensive.  They generally don't mess around
let me count the women who have finished before you...
one....five...twelve...
 David:  have people been banned?
 me:  Yes sir
David:  those women drafted off of men during the bike
me:  and they get on ghost accounts really quickly
David:  see, so i'd have a legitimate, although trolly, argument, so then it's only slightly offensive.
me:  I have seen a couple come and go over the course of an afternoon.
David:  The perfect amount of offense.
what's a ghost account?
me:  someone creates a new account just so they can run around insulting people and making a ruckus
 David:  ohh
i'm gonna start my own website:  www.reasonablyexperiencedtriathlete.com
and i'll outcompete BT
until they buy me out
me:  it is kind of fun to tease wurkitgurl  she takes offense so easily
David:  I'll charge them in posts
 me:  yes, you do that
David:  I need someone to help pad the forums
that's where you come in
post like you've never posted before
the name of one forum will be "my pint of espresso"
me:  I generally don't pad my posts-at least not anymore.
David:  and we'll have "trying for wait loss"
I am NOT getting sued
 me:  no
why would you be sued?
David:  and "khallenge me"  It's pronounced "challenge" but I'll say it's German so it's totally different
me:  my computer can't find http://www.reasonablyexperiencedtriathlete.com
that would be hilarious
and everyone would be laughing
David:  ah you're totally lost i think
 me:  at you
no, not lost

Most of the conversations tend to wander all over the place...there was a secondary conversation the was relevant, but it was mostly before and after with a few comments scattered through the rest.
