The series about Max and the bird school kids is pretty cool.  Far fetched.....but still action packed and somewhat unpredictable in his plot turns.
Some of his books get pretty predictable once you have read a few of the series.

Thats pretty much the way most authors seem to go sadly. I like to read 1 or 2 by an author and then come back to them at a later date so I don't see the patterns!

I even saw things coming in the Millenium trilogy which I LOVED, as did so many other people, but by the third I was predicting a lot of things.

Yeah, everything else in my life interferes too. I take a book to bed with me each night but usually only make 1/2 pages before I fall asleep.

This sounds like me too...  I just picked up a James Patterson book I had never heard of at a used book store / pet adoption store last weekend.  Odd place...  but reall, I thought I  had read all his books.

which patterson book? I have most of his books (except for the flying children books).

Swimsuit.

I never really got the flying kids either...

I didn't read that one.
Have you read Sailboat?

THe science fiction series is actually pretty good.

Reading an excerpt, it sounds familiar...  but it's not like me to completely blank on how a book ended.  I have a feeling I read the cover in the store and was waiting to buy it when I could justify spending more $$ on books.  When I just need to remember to stop by the library for free....  It was good?

She was hearing playing earlier.. She got sea lice bites all over her. She quit posting about 8 hours ago since she took an antihistamine and was going to bed.

Oh no! Thats not nice at all! Hope she is having a lovely sleep then.

That is a good one. I have on Postcard Killers which came out in Aug.  His Don't Blink that came out late sept is waiting with about 6 other books.

I read JA Jance, Patricia Cornwell and sometimes Nicholas Sparks (for a touch of lovey dovey).

I love the murder but just can't get out of the box for flying kids.

QueenZipp - 2010-10-28 9:30 PM Women's Mystery Series is good.
The Alex Cross series is good too
THere's another series with a cop named Mike Bennett that I have read a few of as well.

LOVE the women's mystery series.

Alex Cross is how I got hooked on James Patterson.

I love the fact that each chapter is only a couple pages...  it makes for easy stopping points when I NEED to go to bed.  Or makes it easy to just read ONE MORE  when I just can't bear to put it down.

I loved the Millenium series!!  The first 2 movies are available here now... in Swedish but subtitled in English.  So glad I understand Swedish thought because I hate reading subtitles but if you don't mind they're worth checking out... well I've only seen the first one but I'm watching the second one this weekend when I go home.

Exactly - Jance's chapters are like 15-20 pages and I get frustrated sometimes with not being a couple pages.

I did see the first one the other week. It was pretty decent and I don't mind subtitles but the characters were not nearly as attractive as I feel some of them should have been from the book!

Love these as well. I have read a few of the bird kids but just had a hard time getting into them.  But for me things have to be pretty real for me to get into it.  For instance I couldn't get into Harry Potter either.. Just sometimes can't get out of the box.

My dad and I are arguing over who should be the actors when they make the American version of the movie... we can't agree at all.  It'll be interesting to see who gets picked for the movie here.
