barqhead - 2007-11-01 7:22 AM Wow. Go to bed and miss like 2 pages of posts. I'm off to do my first pilates session of the month. Go me. I'll really need motivation tomorrow to make that yoga class at 5:40am. Yikes! Spokes is joining us? Cool! How did I get so lucky to get on the cool kids' team? Pam

cuz you're one of the cool kids - duh :-)

Great job on getting to the yoga class!

I think I should have added a goal of getting back to morning workouts.........hmmm

tnickerson - 2007-11-01 6:05 PM I'm going to revise my goals.  When I originally posted them, I was looking for something just to get me moving in a specific activity several times a week, but I think if I don't set some specific time goals for myself, I'll get lazy and do a five minute workout just so I can say I got a workout in.  Here are my revised goals:

Bike 450 minutes (through 11/18 - going to Costa Rica on 11/19 - no bike)
Run/walk 600 minutes
Swimming 300 minutes
In addition, I'm going to keep the following as 3x per week since I'm not as concerned with how much time I spend on each activity but am more concerned with getting in the sessions.
Yoga/stretching 13 sessions
Core/pilates 13 sessions

That being said, now I feel like I've really challenged myself to improve this month rather than coast along.

Most Excellent!  (oh and we'll be sure to let you know if anything earth shattering happens!)

wemoon - 2007-11-01 7:47 PM I got my bike in today, it felt great! Tomorrow I will probably do nothing. Usually I take Fridays off because they are one of my busiest days. I have a speech I have to do at an awards banquet tomorrow. I won a scholar award for a paper I wrote and have to now talk about my paper before I can claim my prize money. My internet is running horribly. I have no idea what is going on, but it is me off! So, I can't post as much as I would like to because it takes ten years to load a page

Congrats on the award!  That is totally awesome.

You'll have to be sure to let us know how the speech goes!

10 Pages and still going strong, wow! I need to go back and read before I post anymore.

Alright! I'm not working today, it's my first day off in three weeks. Also, I'm not going anywhere today because I bought a wet suit in the classified section from Redly and the tracking said that it should be here today. I plan on hitting the stationary bike and some core exercises this morning followed by the pool to try my wet suit in the late afternoon depending when it arrives.

Basically other than that I plan to relax with some reading followed by polishing the motorcycle for a road trip tomorrow. Going to take a ride and see the damage from the ground for the first time (I saw it only from the air).

kns57 - 2007-11-02 7:34 AM I got this email today and thought it was worth sharing. I think the guys on this team are man enough to handle it. Enjoy. How Adam Got Eve -- Priceless Adam was hanging around the garden of Eden feeling very lonely. So, God asked him, "What's wrong with you?" (obviously he was not on BT) God said that He was going to make Adam a companion and that it would be a woman. He said, "This pretty lady will gather food for you, she will cook for you, and when you discover clothing, she will wash it for you. She will always agree with every decision you make and she will not nag you, and will always be the first to admit she was wrong when you've had a disagreement. She will praise you! She will bear your children, and never ask you to get up in the middle of the night to take care of them. "She will NEVER have a headache and will freely give you love and passion whenever you need it." Adam asked God, "What will a woman like this cost?" God replied, "An arm and a leg." Then Adam asked, "What can I get for a rib?" Of course the rest is history............!!!!

Now everything has become clear to me, I am now enlightened. However he should have made the entire sacrifice for the rest of us men down the line.

welcome back spokes - I like the old/new avatar!

don't get me wrong - she was - umm hot!, but well, it just wasn't you

How many avatar changes does that make for the last 24 hours?

I have no idea

i'm guessing the man changes avatars more often than he changes underwear

of course, that's assuming he wears underwear, I mean, what does one wear under a kilt? - hmmmmm

Guess it depends on whether they are wearing it correctly...

I do like cool refreshing breezes.

LMAO!

wemoon - 2007-11-02 3:45 AM Thanks! And yea Hector... It was 29 degrees yesterday morning when I got the kids out the door for school! Not sure if I'm ready for winter. This will be my first year training during the winter months. I think I'm set up for it, but I would much rather be too hot working out than too cold.

Yeah you bring a whole bunch of perspective to my weather world. I lived in DC during some of the rough winter months and what a pain it was trying to work out, I don't envy you guys. I'll stick to nice weather here, even if it does cost an arm and a leg to enjoy.

How was Les Mis?

My daughter and I had a great time.  It was a local Twin Cities production at the Chanhassen Dinner Theater on a smaller stage, but they did a good job with the props working with that stage size.

For dinner, we sat at a table next to 2 women who just doted over my daughter.  They talked to us all through dinner and during intermission one of them shared French history with my daughter and tried to guide her through parts of the story line that were a little more complicated (like Javert at the bridge).  Great local talent.  Javert and Eponine...great voices.  And get this...as we were driving home (11:15pm) my daughter told me that when I left for the restroom before the show, one of the women told my daughter that she had a cool dad...SCORE!  'Bout time my daughter heard that from someone other than myself ...anyways...it was a great night...
